And I would find it hard to fathom that the Spurs would actually want to get older.
I think they ll pursue him, CP3 may be a little old, but his game will age very well, only concern would be that he keeps getting these small injuries.

I think he'll remain in LA, The clippers could offer more money, a bigger market and maybe a chance to play with one of his best buddies LBJ or Melo in the future.

I think Paul George would be a better fit :p

And btw, told you the lakers would trade DAR. :D
I'll admit. I was surprised. Then again, if there is anyone that knows about team chemistry and being a leader, it's Magic Johnson. So, in that regard, I'm not about to question it. It's a steep price to pay to wipe away one of the mistakes from the previous management team, but it needed to be done. And they did get a 20ppg center who stretches the floor and provides spacing, even if only for 1 year.

It was a very good deal for the lakers.

I just MUCH rather see CP3 in Spurs then go play point for 2 elite bigs and a team of nothing else.

Dont know how many of you saw NBA awards (I cathed last half), but as corny as he usually is, Drake showcased he got legit good jokes :D

Nah they could've lost him for nothing, he informed them he wasn't going to sign with them. This way they at least got something back for him.

why fucked? CP3 did right by them and they get something out of him leaving. He was gonna opt out, otherwise.

You fellas wanna venture a guess where LeBron will be taking his talents soon enough?

I get that Paul was going to leave.

But what did Houston really give up? Not much, if anything.

Meanwhile, the gradual decline of the Clippers and the bandwagon fans will continue, which makes me happiest of all.

Say goodbye to Griffin as well.

Wonder how CP and Harden would work, both ball dominant guards.

Also it will be interesting to see how Paul would fit in D'Antoni' system. He never played at run and gun pace. He's more of half court pick and role point guard.

Classy move.

Chris_Broussard: Source: CP3 wanted to give Clips chance to get compensation for him so he told them about Houston, rather than leaving them with nothing

So now, if Melo gets bought out, he wants to go to the Rockets too.

I can't see how Houston is going to win anything with 3 ball dominant players and a defense that, even with CP3, will probably now give up 120 ppg.

Derrick Rose possibly to San Antonio?

Has Pop lost his fucking mind?

@acmilan

Do the Celtics have the 2018 or 2019 Clippers pick?

This feels like an ill-planned move by the Rockets, imo. CP3 is an ageing player with a good deal of injury history, who also happens to be a rather questionable fit with Harden.
Seems like a trade that the players pushed for, and Daryl Morey agreed to, in a desperate attempt to create a star-studded team that, at least on paper, would challenge the GSW.

2019 and that pick is all of a sudden starting to look valuable. And Doc Rivers doesn't like rebuilds all that much, so watch him pack his bags, as well.

So, if you are the Clippers, an if for the sake of argument, you want to blow everything up and start over.

Why even accept a trade? Losing CP3 puts you on the fringes of not making the playoffs anyway. Losing both CP3 AND Blake puts you smack dab in the lottery.

So why accept anyone in a deal? To make the team tread water for the 8th seed?
