Not bad, good for us, we will lose more games. I have no idea how brewer has been but I assume he is just steak knives. Rockets now have a formidable bench
He's been crap. Our bench had been Gordon, Dekker, Harell, Nene, Brewer.

So we were short on guards.

Derrick Rose for Rubio in play? :weee:

Allways loved him in Chi-town, and Rubio is so unfuriating to watch despite the way he runs the floor.
Even swap of useless players at this point. Makes no sense as to why they would add someone like Rose to a team that needs to grow organically with the types of Towns, Wiggins, Lavine, and Dunn.

How much has Rubio left on his contract? I know Rose has an expiring one, maybe thats why they want him. Play this year and see how he turns out for them, if hes good give him an extension (1 or 2 years)

He is the type of player that would stunt the growth of their young core. The kind of player you don't want. Rubio is unselfish and plays defense. 2 things that Rose does not do. Why would they consider this? To make a push for that 8th spot and get blown out by 50 by Golden State? I don't think that would do the franchise any good.

You could make a case if they were looking to trade Rubio so that A) Dunn would be moved into the starting PG role, and B), they were looking to get another big man.

But Rose? C'mon.

Dunn is not ready at all, nowhere close yet, Rubio is completely a hindrance despite the passing or decent D, but he is so bad at scoring no one marks him and it stunts the play in general. Lavine is injured for rest of the season, extra edge from point guard is needed and there is litterally nothing else to get for Rubio, so rather take chance on D Rose, being coached again by Thib.

You're not getting the 22 year old Derrick Rose. This version is a shell of what he used to be.

And once again, he has been flaking out this season, as only Derrick Rose can. But hey, if they want to add that element to their locker room, more power to them. He's not going to suddenly change into a model citizen because he will now be in Minnesota.

And again, what would the endgame be?

Salary cap relief at the end of the year? Then you need to give up more than Rubio.

Playoff push? The Pelicans just got Cousins to pair with AD, so it's going to be a struggle to leapfrog them. And even if they do make the 8th seed. Say hello to Golden State, and an absolute beatdown. How does that help this franchise?

I know all that. It is a risk for sure, but you dont realize how much of a hindrance Rubio is, offers little quality for his contract, so taking a chance on anyone, especially one that used to be a top player, is better then nothing.

But mainly it just sucks ass to lose Lavine for rest of season when he was having a breakout solid season.

Rubio is signed through 2019. For that Knicks to take that cap hit for the next 2 seasons, the T-Wolves will have to give up a lot more for Rose.

You will need to give up a lot more than Rubio to get Rose and his expiring contract. Is it worth giving up a potential lottery pick in a very deep draft to have 25 games of Rose? The free agent class isn't that strong this year.

I didn't know that Lavine was out for the remainder of the year, but still. They just need to do what they do, and continue to draft young players.

Other components havent been mentionned, but anything more then 2nd rounder would be dumb even if there is a huge scoring difference between the two players. Because Rose is still just finishing his big contract and will most likely enter free agency unless he would suddenly absolutely shine under Thibs guidance again.
