I stand for people being allowed to say things. I agree that there are limits to this right and one doesn't always have to intentionally hurt people. However, the sheer talent most muslims have for being 'insulted' is disgusting. It's a manipulative power play and I won't have it.
In this case whether it's insulting or not is irrelevant. I hope you can see that.

Btw, your excuse for being an inconsiderate cold human being under the blanket (bubble rather) of "freedom" is disgusting. Just FYI ;)

blah, blah, blah. for what it's worth i think Rab was right here and i always believe that it's not what you say but the context in which it is used,Alen understands this, but he also understands that if he complains about Rab and acts like he is being singled out he can get it reversed.

well played Alen,well played

Hoori, do you have a system that alerts you whenever the word "Islam" is used on these forum? Mysterious how you show up out of nowhere after being away for some time.
No, that's only when it comes to Real Madrid :p

Da, but you gotta admit he's hiding it well. :D

You're not Muslim, what would you know what's offensive or not to a Muslim?
I was for 80% of my life and I'm living among them. I know how Muslims are easy to offend and I have no problem with them being mad at what they consider offensive but all this doesn't give them the right to punish someone which has supposedly offended them. I'm not talking about these forums Tahir, you know that an act, to be considered as a guilt, must be disapproved by law in the first place and by norms in a lesser level. Pigs are holy for a hypothetical group of people and they get offended when the word pig is used in crude jokes, does it give the "pigists" the right to punish someone for using such jokes? A Muslim can be offended by what Alen said there but it doesn't mean Alen must be given an infraction because of that. You need reason for that. And as Dusan could well see it lacking in what Rab did, the warning was reversed.

I know how much Mecca means to Muslims and I still don't see the joke aimed at Islam but rather at the member Furia but lets suppose that it was really an insulting joke at Islam. Alen doesn't know how Mecca means to Muslims like member X probably doesn't know how Materazzi means to me. Punishing Alen for that is like punishing anyone who say Materazzi is an asshole. For Alen, Mecca is only a city like many other cities in the world and for member X Materazzi is only a player (a non-Juve one!) like many other players in the world. How far can you go now? How big is the list of your holy things?

You can make a list as big as you want writing down your holy stuff there but the bigness of your list doesn't give you the right to punish people who don't hold your holy things dear like you do.

I'm impressed with the example given I must say, really.

I would have believed what you say if it wasn't for Rab following people who don't always have good things to say about Del Piero and trying to hunt them down using his moderating powers.

Save it Hoori. I am a Muslim from Pakistan living in the West going for a career in aviation who has friends that drink, smoke and fuck. I get my fair share of jokes and I know how to take it too :) In real life it's very difficult to offend me. It's the random insertion of someone's religion (or the like) in a discussion of something unrelated that is the issue here.

While we're on the subject though: let's not kid ourselves. Alen's a historian; he damn well knows what Mecca is and it's significance. Even if he doesn't, the word "Mecca" has almost become an universal term for a holy place to anything and anyone (e.g. Silicon Valley is the Mecca of computer technology).

it's very easy to portray Rab that way and maybe he does let his emotions get the better of him but Alen has used this trick several times now. in the past i may have agreed that rab may have overstepped the boundaries but in this case i disagree. Furia Ceca received 2 infraction in that thread and nobody seems to mind about that

The last place I use my mod power is in the Del Piero thread. In 4 years as Moderator I never remember using my Mod powers in Del Piero official thread because I knew one day, someone is going to come up with this.

Class of you.

It is exactly as stupid as that Rab.
Can you do me a favor?

The next time you see me abusing my Mod powers against those who don't share my opinion on Del Piero like you claim please bring it as fast as possible here to this thread. Better than keeping it inside and feeling bitter about it. This way you'll put it on my face and I will figure out what you're really talking about.

Thank you.

Rob I have always tried to not portray Rab like that for obvious reasons. Snoop complained about that, so did Pitbull, Razielist and ViCB [?]. Connect the dots, what do they all have in common? And this is coming from me who have always had arguments with that bunch.

Oh ok, I got the warning for insulting the Muslims. I had no idea that it was my intention but if others think it was then so be it.
Mecca rhymes with Ceca for those who don't speak Italian and it was a reply to the biggest idiot in the forums who insults both the Muslims and the non-Muslims whenever he makes an appearance. The last time I checkjed that idiot said to the Muslim Osman that he will rape his mother but he's still allowed to post even though he doesn't learn.

Again, lets not fool each other. I was warned by Rab for no other reason but because it was me who wrote that post.

Insulting the Muslims. God some here are pathetic
