they are good, I'm happy with them though I can appreciate why LOTR die hards are a bit pissed off, they aren't at all true to the books, especially the second one. Still, great films nevertheless and i can't wait for the third one, since I am sick to death of watching the two towers on DVD over and over :D

Watched both and they are awesome :thumb:
i can't say wcich one i liked more.
    they were different.

in the first one the places were mangificat and we "met" all the
characters, but the battels weren't too interesting!

the second, the places were not very interesting but the caracters,
    the talks,
    and the final battle...amazing!:D

but i can say i enjoed more the second!

Well I am a Tolkien die hard, or rather was, but I still found the movies great and the stuff they ommitted (like Tom Bombadil) was good for the flow of the story. I want to get the 3 movies on dvd with the extra minutes, etc cos imo it's a trilogy you need to have in your collection.

You're so right. The 2nd one had more action and it flowed very well whereas the first one, it might have made people get bored a bit (certainly not me).

I've read the books loads of times since I was 13 (now i`m 23) and get fascinated by them each time. Good call on the Silmarillion.
