No he wasnt, Aguero was a demi-god in that tourno, most impressive performance in a youth tourno I have ever seen.
But Maxi was kickass still, so was Banega.
Zarate was WAY too much of a selfish ballhog to have been the best, and was benched a bit, to be the best. FYI, Aguero was the MVP of the whole tourno, Zarate was NOT as good as him.

Nope its not, now he has the second highest amount of assists in Serie A, 8 assists (fini 10). And now he is a bit of a ballhog because he is very simpleminded, his decision making is bit straight forward, as in he is only wired to go straight at players, I dont think its something he does entirely deliberate, just the way he is.
But that tourno, he was OVERDOING it so deliberately it was insanely ridicolous, made it pretty obvious it was ME ME ME, and how he would impress however had the biggiest money bag around. I kid you not, he pretty much never passed the ball, and was screaming for it whenever he didnt have it.

he's got passion. imo he's got the C.R syndrome. Remember his early Manure days where he would hog the ball and do his little dribbles and tricks without end product? buy after a few years the guy matured and started assisting and scoring left and right. I think/hope Zarate will also mature and be less selfish. Still think it's worth taking a risk on him, at least a first option for a replacement for Del Piero.
Yeah his attitude is bit hotheaded. But Zarate is bit like Lavezzi, even if his decision making is poor compared to Lavezzi, he is all about pretty much dribbling almost the whole defence from the flanks, and then making a splitting sideways passing that serves up his teammates with an empty net. They are ze masters of it.
Cassano is too a bit. Here, watch the type of assists I'm referring to:
He would be such an unstoppable player if he had better decision making and wasnt so moody (he's still young, so can improve). Basically like Lavezzi, who is virtually unstoppable at times, except the difference is he isnt as good goalscorer/finisher as Zarate (or better yet, more like Lavezzi is bit too unselfish, he doesnt shoot enough, mainly creates).
