Juve's Schweinsteiger hunt ends
Monday 15 December, 2008
German international Bastian Schweinsteiger has officially renewed his contract with Bayern Munich, ending transfer links with Juventus.

The Old Lady had been tipped to try and lure Schweinsteiger, as he was initially reluctant to commit to a new deal at the Allianz Arena.

With the talented 24-year-old's set to become a free agent next summer, a free transfer was a possibility, but Bayern have convinced him to stay.

Die Roten confirmed this morning with a statement on their website that Schweinsteiger has extended his contract at the club until 2012.

Juve will now have to channel their efforts elsewhere as they look to solve their midfield riddle.

Another Bundesliga star, Werder Bremen's Diego, is believed to be a target.

I was never a fan and i find these news very good.
Sorry for those who wanted him here and i hope we'll get a much better player than him.

Even though I rate Gallas very high, I feel it's going to do injustice to Legro and Mellberg. So Gallas for LB anyone? like his Chelsea days. Saying this I must add that I don't dislike Molinaro and am very hopefull about him but he needs to improve before he is a regular.

Gallas will never even consider coming to us if is for LB post. That was time when he started causing troubles to Jose, and refused to play etc....

He is top CB and only reason we would get him now would be cos is cheap..Otherwise, priorities are Nedved replacement and LB , dare i saw RB as well.

I disagree. Gallas left Chelsea because he felt he could get more respect at Arsenal. Not being able to play at CB meant less respect to him, plus offered less cash meant he was worth less to Chelsea than the other Chelsea players.

The way it is now at Arsenal (stripped of captaincy is disrespect according to him imo), a move to Juve alone is respectable for him provided we give him some cash as well to show his importance; I think he would come to Juve willingly. To add to that there is Ranieri.

i don't think he preferred milan ... bayern just baited him with the captaincy after kahns quits playing ...
