GALLAS GOING CHEAP TO JUVE
By Dave Kidd

William Gallas will be allowed to join Juventus for just £3million.

People Sport exclusively revealed last week that Juve boss Claudio Ranieri wants to sign the disgraced former Arsenal captain in January - and the clubs met last week to thrash out a deal.

Arsene Wenger has given his blessing, despite public claims to the contrary, after Gallas was stripped of the captaincy for an outrageous attack on his team-mates. Arsenal would rather Gallas went to Turin than join a Premier League rival.

Fulham defender Brede Hangeland is a leading target to replace the Frenchman.

Juve have stolen a march on Italian rivals AC Milan in the battle for 31-year-old Gallas, who played the best football of his career at Chelsea after being signed by Ranieri.

I like him very much.. (just like Lampard)

He was brought by CR in 2001, and played with Desailly as CB and later in partnership with J.Terry (they had a run of 16 games without conceding a single goal).
Under CR, Gallas played his first international cup also he played some games as RB as well.

Under Jose he played as LB as W.Bridge was injured..He argued with Jose about it, and i think he did not want to sing new contract, so left for Arsenal..

He is great CB and will work like gem with Chiellini, not that i have anything against Legro..

Arsene and CR are great friends, and im sure Arsene would not mind him to come here..(maybe he will want Gio :) )
3M and Giovinco and i'd call this a good deal.

You think he'd deserve that based on his curent form, Legro's recent form and other factors such as time to settle in the country, league, team, langauage?

In other words, is his (debatable) ability as a defnder that much of an improvement to be considered worth the risk of employing a potential team destabiliser and letting all the morale and confidence of Legro go down the drain becuase all the hard work and imporvements he has made was for nothing. Not to mention he's not that young to be considered a long term solution to anything.

Gallas is a great defender and no matter what some of you say, you won't change the truth.

We're talking about a 31 years old (not old at all for a CB) who played in a WC final, had a great WC, has accumulated experience from the CL and the EPL while playing for top european teams.

But some of you experts will always find something to moan about, just like you did with Sissoko.
If Ranieri wants him, then i sure hope we get him because Ranieri knows him much better than all of you here, including Fred.
