Have you ever seen Modric if you think he can only play AM and competes directly with Giovinco? They arent similar at all.

Modric can be both a regista ala Pirlo, but mostly like Deco, a very hardworking creative engine who runs the tempo of the team as a CM (and AM too, he is quite complete mofo). Gio is borderline forward, a trequartista who plays in the last 30ms or so (while is Modric further down). Him and Modric can co-exist to say the LEAST. Just like how Deco and Messi could co-exist.
completely agreed, he could well be the missing piece in the jigsaw puzzle.

But theres no way the Spuds would be willing to sell him, they just bought him for 22M Euro's. Xabi Alonso would be a much more realistic target obviously.

he was THE signing for Spurs in the offseason...you think they will be intersted in a loan deal?
Look at Darrent Bent, he was THE signing for Spurs the season before and yet he has failed and Tiago was THE signing for Juve last year and he has barely made the bench. In the few matches that I have seen Modrid play with Croatia he has pretty impressive, and this season he has yet to make a difference for his club.

you miss my point...I mean that they will not be interested in getting rid of him and even if they are, it sure as hell won't be a loan deal

I do not believe Modric is impossible to acquire. Tottenham are in desperate need of a defensive midfielder and a forward, and Modric's been one of their worst performers. They've already spent a fortune this season, and they might need to off load some before buying more. Their looking towards Arshavin and Yaya Touré, both who might not be interested in joining Spurs at the moment. Money always talks however.
