I don't see Brazzo adding anything to this squad, apart from that lucky Milan match. Anyway, I am not watching Ljungberg for years, I know him from Arsenal, and he was a super player, but if you say he is done, then case is closed Donna Molinaro :)

No, Brazzo is much more versatile, and covers for injured players when needs. His wages are a lot less than Ljungberg's and would actually be playing occasionally rather then injured for the most part.

I think Salihamidzic costs us a lot of salary, I am not very sure, but that is what I remember.

Salihamidzic is versatile, that is true, but he is average for every position he plays/played with Juve at least.

I can't really argue about the performance, I didn't see him for years, maybe 3? But I doubt he is worse than Salihamidzic

You really need to check Brazzo's salary, trust me it's not cheap!

Salihamidzic earns 2 m euro per season if I'm not mistaken.
which is a lot for a player of his quality, not to forget another 2 Mil for the taxes..
Yeah, Salihamidzic earns 2m, exactly the same ammount we pay to Iaquinta. That wasn't too much for the player he was +2 years ago but that's too much for the player he is today. Letting him play a different role in every next match won't help either and i doubt he'll find his old form and consistency if he plays RB on Sundays and LM on Wednesdays.

But what do you suggest to do with him ?
He will be 32 in less than half a year. Do you think there will be a team interested to pay him the wages he earns now ? Brazzo has a contract until 2011 and he has 2m eur per year guaranteed for the next 3 years. He can simply sit on the bench and earn this money.
Juventus was his last chance to secure himself and his children financially and he took the chance. Unless some other team offers him the same money, and i can't see who will be so stupid to pay him 2m eur per year, i don't think Salihamidzic will accept to leave Juve.

There is this option to cut his deal and pay him the wages he was going to earn until 2011, but i believe we can agree that it's not a smart move.

In other words, you can expect some Brazzo magic in Juve for the next 3 seasons :D

Freddy in his current declined state is still way better then the sadly utterly horrible Sali of now (versatile means jack shit mean he is equally shit everywhere). Totally down the drain with the 2m salary he has.

Only issue with Freddy is his injury tendencies of late. I dont think he would have any issue with cutting back his salary to revive his career, even if its as backup player (and you really dont know him if one suggests he doesnt do enough hustle). And he would be better then Marchionni and Sali even at his worst. He still has some left of when he was a top player.

in other words, fuck Secco for making this kind of a deal :D

16 Million euros will be wasted within 4 years total. Seriously, it's crazy to offer a player like that 4-year contract at the age of 31! You see Alen why I can't stand this board.

If i'm not wrong the original deal was done by Moggi but it's true that our new board could have easily ignored the verbal agreement between Moggi and Brazzo.
Instead we decided to go on with this transfer and we signed him half a year after Calciopoli, in January 2007 (he joined us in June, after his contract with Bayern expired), with the conditions agreed between Moggi and Salihamidzic's agent.

I guess back then, while we were in serie B, a free agent with a successful career behind him, wanted by the big Luciano and wanted probably even by Deschamps who was our coach in January 2007, seemed like a good deal.

I agree that it's way too much to give such high wages to a 30 year old, who was obviously in decline. Those were tough times and tough decisions, some of them out of desperation, had to be made. Most of them, this one included, turned out to be wrong decisions.

Btw, if you think that 16m eur in 4 years is too much, then check how much we spent on Tiago and Andrade (transfer fees+wages) in one single year.

Don't check, I'll tell you :p

13m eur to buy Tiago
10m eur to buy Andrade
2m eur wages+2m eur taxes (total of 4m eur) for Andrade last year
2,6m eur wages+ 2,6m eur taxes (total of 5.2m eur) for Tiago last year.

Total = 32.2m eur in one year :D

And from Salihamidzic we got 5 goals and 2 assists in return last year. What did we get from Andrade and Tiago ?

p.s: Apart from Tiago's assists against Reggina !

Awesome! I knew these lovely details, Tiago and Andrade deals were bad luck, can't really blame them even thou Tiago's transfer is arguable. But Salihamidzic's deal is a total madness. I mean they didn't buy him for the first team role, and still he earns high wages like that.

Maybe I didn't really read carefully, but are you telling me that Brazzo's contract was made at Moggi's time? isn't that against the law? shouldn't they contact him maximum 6 months before his contract expires?

I'm not sure so ask Mark, but i think the original plan was to buy Brazzo after 2005/06 season. Not as a free agent, though.

And the problem with Salihamidzic is the lenght of the contract. Not that the wages are ok, far from that, it's madness as you said, but they could have at least sign him in a 3 year contract
