hmm. makes biz sense but I don't want juve to pick off the carrion of other club's misfortunes, too close to our sit'n a few years back.

but if kompany is leaving HSV this year (linked to arsenal) we should get him. I know we aren't actually spending any transfer money on the defense (just the already strong attack) but a kompany/chiellini combo at CB would be awesome, movement, power and a pairing for 10 years to come..

Look, the right-back slot is like the last thing we have to worry about right now. We need to get someone in midfield who has the capability to pass the ball for a change if we want to have a chance of winning Serie A or the Champions League in the coming years. Zebina isn't Lilian Thuram but he's still good enough to play, has been for a while, so I don't understand why we would want to waste our limited stash of money on a position we have three people available already.

It's simple. A central midfielder who can pass, a good left-back who is capable both defensively and going forward, another classy centerback plus our loaned out boys, and we're done. Se acabo.

It should be simple but with Secco and the other clowns here, it's like giving a five year old a differential equation and making him solve it while he cries to his mother that he's trying his best.

:agree:

I don't see us even making a real effort to sign a top class CB though.
You're probably right. And even if we do try, Secco will foul it up and another side will move in once they hear we're after him. It's like we're walking down streets in Baghdad instead of running like everyone else, wearing a big red bullseye on our back with the words "shoot me" written in the middle.
