Watch Aguero play and you'll see the reason for starting him over DP. But no point in discussing this, there's no chance of us getting him.
I think you are not right. There is a chance and atm it is quite real. The words of his agent confirm that not to mention the neverending speculations that we are after him.
The only problem is that we are not like before - when we select a player we chase him and sign him in a week.
Now it is secco running the game - which means Aguero can play for us when he is around Maldini's age.

aguero= 40-45 million at least, there's no way althetico are letting this kid go for cheap.
Man how many times do I have to post it!!!
PLEASE READ A FEW PAGES BEFORE:
FOR EVERYONE: AGUERO'S BUYOUT CLAUSE IS 36 MLN. EUROS. He hasn't signed a new contract yet - that is why we are still in the game.

There is no way Aguero will join us in the near future unless Atletico won't reach CL IMO.
Maybe he would like his first try in the CL to be with a smaller team. But on the other hand we will have no pressure for winning on the players (best I see is 1/4 finals) and I am sure that he signed with a small buyout option just because he wants to go to a better team.
And his salary for the next five years (or at least 2) won't be that big.

Buffon

Zebina - Zapata - Chiellini - De Ceglie
(Sali) -(Melberg) - (Legro) - (Criscito)

Camoranesi - C.Zanetti - Hamšik
(Marchisio) - (Sissoko) - (Ekdal)

Giovinco
(Palladino)

Trezegol - Aguero
(Iaquinta) - (Del Piero)

This can turn into a 4-4-2 in difficult matches without reducing the attacking side:

Buffon

Zebina - Zapata - Chiellini - Cristico

Camo - Zanetti - Hamšik - De Ceglie

Trezeguet - Aguero

Panchina: Mirante, Melberg, Cristico, Sissoko, Palla , Marchisio, Giocinco, DP and IQ

I like the general setup and agree with the purchases, except for Aguero. I just don't think we can justify spending that amount of cash on another striker.

i would rather buy a young cheaper striker seeing we already have enough.
first and foremost comes defense and mids

Maybe you havent seen him enough...i know its not all about the talent, and like i said he has some way to go before he can be compared to DP, but he certainly has the talent and ability to become one of the best, to say he isnt even 5% of DP, is a bit unfair on him imo seeing to the fact he's still just 19 and he's setting the world alight in one of the best leagues in the world

The thing bro is, whoever impress for a season is and I've been reading posts like this since years now is immidiatly a player considered to be able to replace someone like Del Piero.

Some people think it's just easy to replace someone like Del Piero. Fact is you have to be Del Piero to replace someone like Del Piero...and I'm not talking from a biased point here but reality.

Everytime I've seen Aguero, this season, last season and a game or 2 a season before that at Independiente and at U-20 WC, he has been the best player on the field... Everytime! Honestly, DP is my favourite player (along with Trez and Gigi) but Aguero's recent performances would warrant him starting over DP.

Cuti or the Italian guy,do you think Zalayeta is worth 8-9m €?Besides that I think that's the way to go: spending the money on 2-3 big signings rather than on 4-5 average ones.
I think he as a whole contract is worth about 7 million, but obviously if Napoli have half his contract the most we'll get is 3.5

I've heard that alot Craka. Anyway, each one sees diff thing in football.
Aguero is good, but I don't think for now he'll be able to knock out Del Piero from the starting line up. But anything can happen in football

I've seen him play but not that much. He's not even 5% of Del Piero to honest.

come on, you just said you haven't seen him that much. You can't honestly pass judgement on a guy you haven't seen. He has really come on as of late, he was the reason madrid beat barca last weekend. He was absolutely brilliant, made milito and puyol look like children. If you were actually serious (which I doubt) about the whole 5% of del piero business, then I can't even have this discussion with you....

Don't get me wrong, DP on top form should always play in front of Aguero top form, but the thing is DP can't always be at his best game in, game out these days, and can even float in and out of matches. Next season, I hope to see him used more sparingly and for more impact. Champions League, Inter, Milan, Fiorentina, Roma, Torino :lick:

Of course it isnt easy to replace DP, i'm not saying its easy. But how many more years does DP really have?? i mean a replacement has to be bought sooner or later, and tbh i dont think theres anybody better than Aguero to fill in DP's boots.
