Moratti’s keen on Quaresma Friday 8 February, 2008
Inter President Massimo Moratti is said to be plotting a huge swoop for Portugal star Ricardo Quaresma.
The Nerazzurri chief watched Italy’s 3-1 victory over Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Portugal in Zurich on Wednesday evening and was believed to be scouting Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, sources suggest that the performance of Porto hero Quaresma, who scored a consolation goal, caught Moratti’s eye.
Inter are expected to make some high-profile transfers in the summer as they look to consolidate their power in the peninsula and have been linked with a number of forwards in recent weeks, including Azzurrini marksman Giuseppe Rossi.
Press reports suggest that Quaresma has been added to Moratti’s wish list and that the Beneamata supremo is keen to begin talks with Porto officials as soon as possible to avoid a summer bidding war.
The Portuguese champions have tied the prodigious 24-year-old to the club until 2011, but it is highly unlikely that Quaresma will be content to ply his trade in the Bwinliga until then.
It has been suggested that Porto President Pinto Da Costa has set an initial asking price of just £11m – a sum that is well within Inter’s financial capabilities.
didn't know if that was postet before...i know it's about inter but look at the price... 11 mil wouldn't be bad for quaresma...
