The Nerazzurri could be closing in on an important transfer according to 'tuttomercatoweb.com', as Sissoko has become the number one objective of coach Roberto Mancini.

Inter have thus stormed ahead in the negotiations that favoured Juventus ahead of Fiorentina until a few days ago: thus, the latest developments could see the French midfielder joining the Italian champions instead of either of these teams.

With Patrick Vieira almost certainly leaving the club at the end of this season, Mancini has requested Sissoko to president Massimo Moratti, as he believes that he would be the perfect replacement for the veteran midfielder.

Inter's sudden acceleration has surprised both Juventus and Fiorentina, who will now need to hurry things up if they do not want to lose the 22-year-old player.

Martin Škrtel je tesne pred podpisom s Liverpoolom
07.01.2008 17:27 - LIVERPOOL

Benitez má veľké starosti so stopérskym postom.

Čerstvý dánsky Futbalista roka Daniel Agger sa stále nezotavil so zranenia, situáciu v defenzíve skomplikovalo zranenie členka fínskeho veterána Sami Hyypiäho. Španiel tak má v strede obrany aktuálne k dispozícii len Alvara Arbeolu a tínejdžera Jacka Hobbsa.

Liverpool má na konte 5 titulov v Lige majstrov, resp. EPM a trikrát vyhral Pohár UEFA. Až 18-krát vyhral titul v anglickej lige, sedemkrát sa radoval v FA Cupe i Ligovom pohári.

Liverpool in Talks to Sign Martin Skrtel
With rumours doing the rounds that Liverpool are on the verge of a deal for a central defender, it has emerged that talks are underway to sign Martin Skrtel from Russian side, Zenith St. Petersburg.

This was revealed today by the Norwegian broadcaster NRK, which is government owned and therefore not liable to idle speculation.

Skrtel, a 23 year old Slovak international, has already played on Merseyside this season when Zenit went down 1-0 to Everton in the UEFA Cup where, truth be told, he didn’t perform particularly well.

Even so, he is highly rated and regarded as one of the most promising defenders in Europe. With a reported fee of around ₤6.5 million, if the transfer were to go throught then it should also ease off the rumours that the club's owner aren't willing - or able - to back the manager.

I would love to see him in the Juve jersey. Hes gone, damn:(

Zambrotta Set For Shock Juventus Return – Report

Barcelona star Gianluca Zambrotta could be set for a shock transfer to Juventus within the next few days, according to ‘El Mundo Deportivo’.

The wing-back enjoyed a hugely successful seven seasons at Juventus before leaving the club for Barcelona following the Calciopoli crisis in the summer of 2006.

Just 18 months later Zambrotta is desperate to return to Italy as his wife Valentina is homesick.

The Italian press has been virtually 100 per cent unanimous in agreeing that the 30-year-old would be moving to AC Milan, with the only question mark being whether the transfer would take place in January or June of this year.

However ‘El Mundo’ is now claiming that Juventus have been in contact with Barca and could seal a transfer within days.

If confirmed it would be a quite stunning turn of events, and it is unclear how many Juventus fans would take to Zambrotta, following his decision to leave them when they were relegated to Serie B.

Barcelona technical secretary
Txiki Begiristain was adamant on Saturday that Zambrotta would be staying with the Blaugrana at least until June.

"Zambrotta will stay with us," he told reporters after Barcelona's victory against Mallorca.

The former Bari man has starred 68 times for Italy, scoring twice. He played at the European Championships of 2000 and 2004, and the World Cups of 2002 and 2006, the latter of which he has a winners medal from.

Now THAT would be awesome, finally a good, experienced LB. He has about 2-3 years left in him and could teach De Ceglie a lesson or two till he retires or he could even be our right back with De Ceglie left. Best option so far.

That's postively shocking if true. He would be the ideal defensive signing.

However, because he's the ideal defensive signing, I have serious doubts it will happen. I'll believe it when I see a picture of him, Secco, Ranieri, Blanc and Gigli holding a Juve jersey.

Zambrotta to Juve
it would be a dream!
Zambrotta Chiellini Andrade Salihamidzic
I could see this defence as a top one altough I still think we should buy someone for the center as well as Andrade is too injury prone.

As for the other posts Mascherano never seen him play but I would welcome him if he is as good as I have heard.
Zapata I`m not sure about him as I haven`t heard he is a top class and I think we could get better.
Huntelaar- a great player I would welcome him as I see him as the new Van Nistelrooy who is a great striker IMO
Amauri- He is good but never seen much of him and what I have seen convinced me he is a good player but not better than Huntellar or am I wrong?

Zambrotta isnt half the player he used to be..he's lost a yard of pace, and physically he isnt like he used to be...good short term solution though.
