As far as Im concerned, our main prioties should be fb and a Nedved replacement. Those are the only 2 areas of the pitch which need improvement if we are to challenge in Europe and Italy next season. Grygera isn't a natural rb, Zebina is decent but we should aim higher, and Nedved will probably retire at the end of the season.

We havent had a good rb for a while now, and its time to invest in that area. De Silvestri and Rafinha are the only 2 names I can think of that are relatively affordable and which offers us an upgrade on Zebina/Grygera/Brazzo.

VDV to replace Nedved, Giovinco as a sub. VDV isn't a winger, but neither is Nedved. If he cuts inside alot like Nedved, he will do fine.

Central midfield is fine. Zanetti/Nocerino are doing a great job (Ranieri is pleased also), Marchisio is doing well on loan, and only 1 of Tiago and Almiron will be sold/loaned. Zanetti/Nocerino/Marchisio/Tiago is enough cover.
No need for Mascherano Sissoko, Albelda and all the other mids we have been linked with.
Central mid is the only area of the pitch that doesn't need work, imo. Nocerino and Marchiso are gaining experience, and if things continue they will be better players next season.

Cb and a striker are luxury signings, even though I want both. Although Im tempted to replace Legro, u cant really complain with the way he has been playing alongside Chiellini. If his 2nd half of the season is as good as the 1st, spending big money on a cb (Zapata, Barzagli, etc) would be more of a luxury than a necessity. If Legro/Chiellini can hold Milan and Inter to draws, Im confident they can do the same in the CL. Our depth at cb is what needs work, and Mellberg or Ujfalusi for free will solve that problem. Andrade and either Mellberg or Ujfalusi on the bench is good enough. Sell Boumsong obviously.

Upfront, Trez, Iaquinta and Del Piero are not short of goals and do not need replacing. Whoever we sign, it shouldn't force Iaquinta or Del Piero out of the starting 11. Amauri would do that, Huntelaar wouldn't. Plus Huntelaar is a better choice in terms of a well rounded front line. Iaquinta, Del Piero and Palladino can partner Trez, no need for Amauri. We need another predator, Huntelaar is the best choice. Unlike the supporting striker role with Del Piero, Iaquinta and Palladino competing for the spot, Huntelaar is all alone in terms of Trezegol's spot so Im sure he will get plenty of playing time between 3 competitions.

VDV, Huntelaar, a good rb, quality depth at cb, and the return from loan of Giovinco, Marchisio and De Ceglie and I'll be satisified. Anything else is extra.

Tiago, I rate the same aformentioned three higher. Zanetti surely has enough to warrent himself a start position, while the other two could be our core for several years to come. Tiago could be useful as a rotational player though.
Thats a bit unfair..Tiago hasnt even been given a fair chance..i believe he is a superior player to Nocerino, who is already 23 if i'm not mistaken....I'm sure Tiago will prove his doubters wrong if he gets his chance.

My 3 Choices for next Season:

(1) Diego
(2) Barzagli
(3) Van der Vart
Why would you want both VDV and Diego??they play in the same position

Not this forum as a whole but there is a big bunch that believe so and I am sure 95% of these haven't seen how our very own Iaquinta owned Barzagli on several occasions in one match.

Lol, nice comparisson :smoke:

But if vdV is put on the market with 12m € price tag, Hunter with 15 and Mascherano with 20, i guess we;'ll have a lot of rivals for their signature.
And we're still left without a quality LB.

Realistically, they probably cost 57m € but their market price+bidding wars will give a final number of ~70 m €

Why do you want to sell Tiago? And more why do you want to sell Iaquinta?
He doesn't want to sell them. These were the prices we had to pay to get them.

Even if they cost 70m € Alen we can still cover it considering the number of players we are going to release.

Almiron(6m €), Zalayeta (other half 3m €), Blasi (2.5m €), Boumsong(2m €).

That's more than enough to cover the extra 13m € ;)

I think that plan is possible, but the thing is purchasing 5 players, and 3 coming from loan makes it 8 new players (well 7 as Marchisio was a regular last season) in the team. It could take a while to gel. And I would hate seeing us lose points in the title race while waiting for 8 players to get used to playing with each other.

That would have been one hell of a deal, I got really upset when we didn't continue following it up.
W.Samuel deal should have been done last summer... he would have been much better than andrade imo...

Is that before or after the Chelsea factor? :D

what we really need before anything is a Management Makeover.... All these potential signings will just be all talk and rumors with the current Mgt. We need a moggi if we want to get back to the hardcore signings....

A summer,Good coach and the first couple games of the next season should be enough time for them to Gel.

PS: I think that is their market value price at the moment without any competition from other clubs.
