Buffon
Zebina Zapata Chiellini Grosso
Camoranesi Mascherano Tiago Rafael
Trezeguet Huntelaar
Orgasm !!!

And then we have on the bench :

-----------------------GK-----------------------
Grygera - Legrottaglie-Andrade - De Ceglie
------Salihamidzic- Nocerino-Zanetti---------
-------------------Giovinco--------------------
--------------Iaquinta-Del Piero----------------

+ Marchionni, Palladino, Ujfalusi, Marchisio

And we're ready to successfully rotate and fight on 3 fronts

And mind you, it is not too many purchases, so it is all doable.

So the reason you want to get rid of him is that you don't like him at all.

Forza Jonathan, I hope he stays with us as much as he can play good football.

give Inter a chance man. Put Huntelaar on the bench and start Iaquinta or DP. :pimp:

Never going to happen, my friend.

Zapata, talented yes, but if we are to improve our defence, best to get someone who's experienced instead of such a raw talent.

Grosso has had his best years already and peaked too early. I'd rather give Molinaro, De Ceglie more space. Or evensome extra space for Criscito, with Chiellini going back to the left side.

Mascherano, way too expensive. The costs aren't worth sacrificing players like Zanetti, Marchisio or Nocerino over for Mascherano.

Tiago, I rate the same aformentioned three higher. Zanetti surely has enough to warrent himself a start position, while the other two could be our core for several years to come. Tiago could be useful as a rotational player though.

Van der Vaart sucks on the wing.

Trezeguet and Huntelaar won't work together. They'll get in eachother's way, more likely. They are basically the same type of player, they do not complement eachother well.

Too many new faces, bad idea. We need consistency and continuity.

Stick to the current core(Buffon,Chiellini,Camo,Zanetti,Trez) and perhaps add some of our youngsters(Marchisio,Giovinco) and perhaps a star or two(Van der Vaart? A defender?).

Gargano begs for wage boost Sunday 6 January, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Napoli star Walter Gargano has been one of the revelations of this Serie A season, but reveals he earns just £150,000 a year.

“I would gladly have come here for free, but I think I do deserve what is due,” said the Uruguayan midfielder.

“In the summer when I was informed of the transfer I was in Venezuela with the Uruguay national team. We had lost, but I was the only one who was happy that day.

“I knew my wages were meagre, but my agent told me to relax and only focus on playing well. That is what I did, now I am waiting for him to arrive later this month so we can do things my way.”

Napoli beat competition from several other European sides to capture Gargano and he has quickly become a key figure in their midfield, scoring two decisive goals as well against Roma and Juventus.

“I need to earn more so that I can help my family in Uruguay,” he told the 'Corriere dello Sport.’

“Football is a job for me and if I left my home country it is only to improve my career and my family’s standard of living.”

It seems the public appeal has already been heard, as Napoli director Pierpaolo Marino revealed a new contract would be hammered out including an extension until 2013.

Well VDV doesn't have to necessarily play on the wing, but it was easier to put him there just to name the starting players.

Maybe Mascherano is far-fetched but at least we are somehow covered in that department. As for Tiago I still think you are biased or not really convinced of him, but the second half of the season will start next week and I am tipping him to explode.

Huntelaar and Trezeguet don't have to be in each other's way, I think two strikers can cooperate together and don't forget we have Del Piero, Iaquinta and Palladino and these can be rotated.

As for the defender, I think this is our most critical transfer. I put in Zapata because I am not sure which defender would fit this position. I am fine with anyone solid.

A lot of people though that Tevez and Rooney would not work together as they were too similar a player, yet they have been performing very well together

Yeah, I was just being nitpicky there ;).

Well, with Gigli having tipped Tiago as the man of 2008, i'd say Tiago is doomed :D.

Huntelaar and Trezeguet don't have to be in each other's way, I think two strikers can cooperate together and don't forget we have Del Piero, Iaquinta and Palladino and these can be rotated.
I'm not sure anymore, an attacker is neceassary though. With Van der Vaart possibly coming and Giovinco too, added to Del Piero, Iaquinta and Palladino we have a lot of options upfront already.

As for the defender, I think this is our most critical transfer. I put in Zapata because I am not sure which defender would fit this position. I am fine with anyone solid.
Fair enough. I'm not sure who'd be a good choise either.
