Albiol didn't play as a fullback yesterday, so i dont know what your talking about there. And Grygera's an extremely average player, everytime i watch him play he confirms that even more.
Albiol is normally never played as a fullback. He is almost always a CB and sometimes played as a CDM when there are injuries (because he started out there).

You guys think Rafinha would be available for a decent price or some other bigger spending club will take him before we even make a bid?

the funny thing is, that everyone in this forum is rating him higher than the german media and fans ...

in fact i did not even hear the slightest rumour of a transfer ... not because anyone of schalke would have said they would never sell him, but as he is not really a star there ... he is good, yes that is what you hear from schalke fans, but that's it ... may be there is a reason for the lack of interesst in him by any club ...

i can not judge that, because i hardly see him play and when he does not set the world on fire... but thats difficult as full back anyways

you might want to check out his statistics

http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/spieler/33947/rafinha/default/2008/leistungsdaten.html

the green balls stand for assits, the red one for own goals and the black/white ones for goals ... you can switch seasons in the optionbox

They're normal fullback stats I guess. Look at Lahm's last year stats in comparison.

http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/spieler/2219/lahm/default/2007/leistungsdaten.html

I don't understand German but I see that Rafinha is better at scoring and Lahm creates more assists. Rafinha played less game though. Stats are what they are, stats.

Maybe Rafinha is not flashy and people pass over him. I've heard his defensive skills are below average but he's Brazilian. :D

they'll take out some extended loan or do some dodgey epl style deal with a 3rd party crap or just steal him through kidknapping, typical scouse thing to do

i do not rate lahm high anyways ... i just tried to look up zambrottas stats for us(05/06) to compare, but it seems they do not have the correct stats =(...

any world class full back that is sound defensively and also offers in the attack ?

right now i can not judge the two ...

lahm is one lucky pig to have scored last matchday (another deflected ball that would have been easily saved wasn't it for the deflection), but i do not like people with glass bones (he once broke his arm just because he fell and tried to cussion the fall with his arm)

just looked up dani alves' stats for 07/08 to compare it with the others and he had a whopping 18 assists in 49 games... but the seasons before he was not that impressive ... i don't know what he offers in the defense though

i always thought that a good full back should at least create ca. 10 assits a season but it seams that expectation is too high.

even willy sagnol (remember we was linked with him some time) had better seasons than lahm and rafinha, so i guess we should really look at someone that does bring something countable ... like giorgio ... i like math^^

was just searching for some fullbacks for us and then i saw marcel jansen ... he was once pretty good for gladbach, but then he switched (too early) to bayern where he had no chance. now he plays for hamburg and he is a pretty decent crosser and natural left foot. he does left back a bit like grosso ... he is also tall like him plus he is pretty agile and he would probably come pretty cheap in comparision to lahm or rafinha

naaah, forget him, he is in bad form right now, but gotta keep an eye on him ... he is just 23 and has really good characteristics for a great left back

here is a video

the good scenes were mostly when he played for gladbach 3 years ago

Hi V1rtu4l, i do not understand German but the number at the right, is it their market worth ? It should be rite ?

http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/verein/506/juventus-turin/uebersicht/startseite.html
yes it is the market value, BUT the value is voted by the forum members of the transfermarkt-site ... so it is actually based on the people that watch the serie a and are forum members that participate on the vote ...

actually there are mods that do open threads every summer and winter break to discuss the values ...
most of the time the values are alright, because not only the fans of one club vote but the fans of the other teams too and the mods to good work not to upgrade a value too much without a good explanation

I see, thanks. Inter is 1 damm expensive team ...

And Zapata is rated at 11.5 Million Euro ...
http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/verein/410/udinese-calcio/uebersicht/startseite.html
you can see the MWA (Markt Wert Analyse=Market Value Analysis) Threads here

for example for As Roma

or for inter:

to see how it works there
