Juve are gunning for Fucile

Juventus could swoop for Uruguayan defender Jorge Fucile when the January transfer window opens.

After a poor spell of results, the Old Lady are expected to do some business in the New Year to try and put their Scudetto challenge back on track.

And according to the Corriere dello Sport, Porto star Fucile is one of the Bianconeri main targets.

The versatile 23-year-old can play at left-back or right-back and has been compared to Inter captain Javier Zanetti and Brazilian ace Roberto Carlos and is renowned for his speed, dribbling and powerful free-kicks.

Fucile is under contract with Porto until 2012 and is valued at around £6m, but he could arrive in January on loan with an option for a permanent switch in the summer of 2009.

The arrival of the Uruguayan international would be welcomed by the nation's Press, as Fucile means rifle in Italian, making him a headline writer's dream.

Had been awfully long since a Uruguayan featured in Juve's starting eleven.

We are prolly been rumoured to him because of the Uruguay connection. We are now and then linked to any upcoming player from that country. Its a standard procedure for the media.

Busquets isnt really so good, not to speak too soon over someone I have just seen for 3-4 games.

And btw, here's what a Portista says about Fucile:

Fucile is a great attacking full-back who plays both flanks, although naturally right footed. He links up very well with whatever winger is in front of him as he offers alot of overlapping runs, is a good dribbler, and is always a threat to take on the full back.

He hasn't gotten as much playing time this season since Jesualdo Ferreira has opted for the more defensive Sapunaru and Benitez on the flanks, but myself and almost all Portistas believe Fucile is the best full-back in the squad since Bosingwa left.

I think you could do better, especially as his defending is suspect for Serie A, but he'd still be a good addition who attacks alot.

we want everyone
but once our board starts to negociate, they never end and eventually buy someone who is a thousand times worse and say that he fits our squad better
