Honestly I cannot see our midfield without an attacking midfielder. Giovinco - yes, he is welcomed but I cannot see him adding that much of a creativity yet. I don't know why no one is speaking about a 20+mln. Euros signature like a possible think. OK, we kicked Inter in San Siro and we had some players returning to form or showing qualities, but clearly we need additional flavour right now and besides we must build for the future. Although I believe there are a healthy 2 years ahead of both Nedved and Del Piero on the big stage - I would say that going this road is leading us to Milan's position right now. We need some future first team players and besides that we need depth.
All of you are talking about players that would be a good replacements, but apart from VDV, Diego, Aquilani (and I would admit he has a lot of i-like-italian-juve style) and Giovinco after 3 years - we have no real names here.
And as every one is acting like the thought of Diego is blasphemy what are we expecting to do next year in 3 (hopefully CL, Seria A, Italian Cup) competitions we would end up nowhere. Even if we act heroic in the CL - the way Milan did - we are unlikely to win.
So I think it is time for a shopping spree - maybe if the squad gets the second spot that is exactly what we will do. I am sure they have no problem with attracting sponsors and players right now - because the public opinion is that Juventus would always be Juventus - a synonym of the best club in Italy.
Forza Juve.
