Yeah but on the other hand what has Arsenal won in the recent years? Nothing. I admire Wenger´s work there and I admire Arsenal´s football but their trophy cabinet is more or less empty in the last few years. That may change this year though but it just shows that we have to be very patient and wait for a long time until we become a force in Europe again. I am not sure if have that much time to spend and this I am not sure we should be following Arsenal´s example. Things will probably be clearer at the end of season.
Modric would be a great purchase. Fuck Gilberto, Sissoko, Lampard and the rest of central midfielders we are interested in. Modric would be the man and we would also get one sort of a handyman for the team in him. This boy will be big, maybe even in the rang with Diego and Van der Vaart after few years. He is already the main player for our national team together with Eduardo. Without him Dinamo Zagreb and Croatia would be jack shit. Wenger knows what he is buying.
P.S. Not to mention Modric would be waaaaay cheaper and waaaay easier to get than Diego and VDV.

I never said we should follow Arsenal's methods. Rather, I said that we should take notice of how Wenger invests in youth. The man is very good nurturing his youngsters along and implementing them to his side, plus he does take chances on them which is a risk you MUST take if you want to build a good side for years to come.
In regards to what Wenger has won, before Chelsea came to prominence Arsenal won quite a lot actually, although they did fall short to Barca in the Champions League. It's difficult for a side such as Arsenal to compete with the millions of Chelsea, and when the league is already so competitive you can't expect a title every season from Wenger. If things go his way this season, however, they might win the Premiership. So I don't exactly know why you're castigating Wenger's methods regarding the youth as it has worked without a doubt. He's damn good with them.
