Miralem Pjanić (born April 2, 1990 in Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a [[Bosnia and Herzegovina|Bosnian footballer who plays for FC Metz in France.He also plays for the Bosnia_and_Herzegovina_national_under-21_football_team Pjanić played in the 2006 European Under-17 Championships for Luxembourg, for which Luxembourg had qualified automatically as hosts. He scored Luxembourg's only goal: a fantastic first time, long range, dipping effort lobbing Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo. In that same year a memorable game against Belgium ended 5-5 with Pjanic scoring 4 goals for Luxembourg.
Pjanić is now a member of the U-19 Luxembourg team, but there remains considerable doubt over his future international career as the player has, as yet, not fully committed to putting on the Luxembourg shirt. His native country Bosnia-Herzegovina and his current footballing home France are showing keen interest in luring him to their respective national sides. It has been reported that various illustrious clubs in Europe have expressed interest in signing the young player (Schalke, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, A.C. Milan, PSV, Liverpool and Bayern Munich, however Pjanić has stated that he would like to stay on with his current club FC Metz and it remains to be seen when he will break into the first team after the promotion of FC Metz to Ligue 1 in 2007/08. He made his first appearance in Ligue 1 during the game FC Metz-PSG, August 17, 2007.
He has been added to the Bosnia Hercegovina U-21 squad as of September 13,2007. Coach Nikitic added him to the squad after a 3-0 loss to Romania early in qualifiers.

True he is injury prone but he’s still young. I think he’s 25 so he’s still got at least another 8, maybe even 10 years left in him of top flight Football.
He’s got a good attitude, there’s not a nasty side to him and he can play on the right and the left which is useful. I think he’d be worth the risk.
I’m not sure what Chelsea will do with him because there are going to be some big changes in that squad within the next year. They want to play attacking Football, and he is an attacking player so maybe he’ll stay, but if they decide to buy Ronaldinho or some other top name player(s) I can’t see him sitting on the bench. He went down that route when Ranieri was in charge at Chelsea and was very close to leaving.

There was such a hype about him here in Bosnia and Herzegovina and how he is great player and still no one calls him to NT. He is finally called up to U-21 and I still need to see him play. But the good thing is that he is only 17yrs old and he is first team regular at Metz, and many famous players from Balkan are prising him, they also say that he is combination of Safet Sušić and Baždarević and people from Balkan knows what that means.
