Does someone KNOW where I can find the REGULATION regarding Italy's situation...

i.e. their elimination if SWEDEN - DENMARK match ends in a 2-2 tie.

If not..could someone explain HOW they think the rule works.

I am having a discussion with a friend and we both have our own version.

Goal diference for all of the teams will be even in the "minileague" (remember the Denmark Sweden game must end in a tie in order for this tiebreaker to be enacted so all 3 squads will undoubtably be even in goal difference. If they aren't, then either Sweden or Denmark won and Italy would advance) and Italy cannot improve this regardless of their preformance against Bulgaria. So if the mini league is enacted, we know that:

- Italy, Sweden and Denmark will all have to have 2 points in the minileague

- Since all of the matches considered will have been draws, the goal difference will be even for all 3 teams.

So the next tie breaker is goals for. Italy have 1 goal for in the mini and cannot improve this. If Denmark and Sweden are each able to have better then one goal for ( a 2-2 draw, 5-5 draw, 100-100 draw it dosen't matter, then Italy will have 1 goal for, and both Sweden and Denmark will have 2 or more goals for and they will win the tiebreaker and adavance.

In the event of a three way tie, UEFA creates a "mini table" with the three teams involved and discounts their matches against the fourth (Bulgaria in this case). The three teams then follow normal FIFA tiebreaking procedures within the "minitable" with head to head results, then goal difference, then goals scored. If Sweden-Denmark ends 2-2 or a higher tie, then Italy will have fewer goals scored in the "minitable" (they will only have 1 goal for, because the match against Bulgaria isn't considered)

    And yes, when someone takes a shot at you you can expect me to be there to back them up. Why? I dont like you. In fact, I I think you're a freakin' jerk. There. I said it. Now you can go and play the victim like you did when you just joined, that should make you happy.
