Entertaining match today. I think that both teams deserved a draw, from what i saw in the game... but some goals of the almighty Zidane are always welcomed.... (hehe being biased..he is my hero of all times :D).

Sincerely...today´s game was not Zidane´s best. He seemed tired and with lack of ideas..... but the point here is that Big players appear when their teams need them most..and this is a characteristic that made Zidane a legendary player ;).

It wasn't his game, England's midfield line was positioned 5 cm from their defense line. There is no space to operate in there for Zidane like he always does. Much too compact to open up and there was so little movement in the French team as well.

He'll be back though. :)

Just a few opinionated comments:

- Rooney was very good, but should've squared for Vassell instead of winning the penalty, although I'm probably only saying this because Beckham missed.

i was watching it and said. what a moron, even before bechs shot the penalty.

I would like to see Italy win it to hush those stupid critics who say "Italian Football is in a crisis". The real country in a football crisis is England.

My favs teams are Italy, France, and Czech republic... and all of them are because in some way they have something to do with Juve :D

As i said before,,, i wish the best for the 3 teams... but if i have to pick someone,,,, i would pick italy to win it this time.

It's funny how we have a harmonious community in here but the moment Euro starts it's like XT where everyone has their special likes and dislikes. Quite a dangerous situation potentially, esp when I remember the Euro2000 aftermath..
conclusion :  we must closed any euro topics in this forum to keep the harmonious community

One game and people start hailing Zidane as Jesus Crist's reincarnation. Sure, he was good, but not that good. And I simply dont agree that he is the best player in the world. Let's look at the entire last season. He performed below his own high standards, while Henry had a great season.

Currently, I'd put both Henry and Totti before Zizou. He might be one of the best players in the world, but certanly not the best, and certanly not just because of one game.

As I said, France were extremely lucky, and England tactically outplayed them IMO. I dot thing we'll see Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes all in the same team next match, and Wayne Bridge will probably get a place in the team. Sven played all 3 oh his world class centre midfielders precisely to neutralise Zizou, and they actually did very well. England was tactically the better team, altho I'm glad that France won.
