Under what rule? Doesnt he need a work permit to play in the UK? Or has to be playing regulary for the NT?

Fill me in!
from what i read in a recent newspaper article hes allowed to play in england and has his work permit, but u know what newspapers r like - full of bull, but mourinho himself seems confident alex will be at chelsea for the new season

There is a loophole in the whole work permit issue for UK players.
Here is a section of the rules:

"The review panel will normally consist of representatives from the relevant football governing bodies together with up to three independent experts. The panel's terms of reference are to consider whether the player is of the highest calibre and able to contribute significantly to the development of the game at the top level in UK. The panel will make a recommendation to the Head of Work Permits (UK) whose decision will then be relayed to the club. Ministers will be informed of the result."

So it seems thats how Chelsea have managed to get him a Work Permit, cos he really is of the highest calibre.

Alex will never come here. He's under contract at Chelsea and will play there thanks to the same rules that allowed Kalou to play there, the rule Stripper mentioned above. Besides, if he wont go to Chelsea, he'll probably play another year for PSV.

Baclk to the Milito situation, from now on I don't believe anything anymore unless it's officialy official. And I do mean officially.

I'm getting sick and tired of all those "he's coming, no he's not coming, ow, no wait he IS coming" rumours....

It now seems that Real plan to swoop for Millito after Juve have signed him but I doubt we will let him go even not in exchange for Canna.

Real Madrid agree personal terms with Zaragoza's Milito
tribalfooball.com - June 21, 2007

Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Real Zaragoza defender Gaby Milito.
The new Spanish champs still face a big battle with Zaragoza over a fee for the Argentine, however, with their president Agapito Iglesias insisting they would not sell any player to a Primera Liga rival for anything less than their buyout clause.

Real Madrid will have to cough up £17 million for Milito should Iglesias keep his promise to fans.
