I guess this belongs in here...

Did you read what I said? If the map said 'republican' i'd only post based on the topic of republicans, but the map said 'murrican' and I post that $#@! ironically. (Irony is when you say something but you don't really mean for humour...i know americans don't get irony....:shifty: (this was supposed to be ironic)) If i carry on i'll get into an infinite loop.

If he posted that as a 'tory' thing then I wouldn't have said a word, I hate the tories. But he posted it as a 'brit' thing when on it was written 'tory' - associating me by extension with an ideology I find abhorant and a group of people i find disgraceful. Its also worth remembering Brit includes Scots & Welsh (britain refers to the land mass that England, Scotland and Wales exist on).
Which part of Comedy don't you comprehend? It is not meant to be either factual or correct. Only satirical and casual, not be taken seriously and is actually encouraged to be politically incorrect. In any case the British part still stands because:
1) The Tories are a British and not just an English Party.
2) During the time of publication they had an overwhelming majority in Parliament and thus like it or not a representative of the British nation at the time
3) It has to be stated as British because Tory is a term probably unknown to most users in this forum because they can't be arsed to follow politics that they are not concerned with.

I myself am hardly on that aligned with the Tories (then again I think the whole current political setup in Britain is a mess) but making a whole hullabaloo over a pic that it hardly an actual representation of the tories in the first place is not only useless, but makes me wonder if people have been actually taking some of the questionable stuff in the funny pics thread seriously and as obviously true

Now...

That's debatable.

They routinely get fuck all votes in Scotland due to how reviled they are here (and Scotland being quite a lefty country).

Avoiding being governed by the Tories for the foreseeable future is about the best argument I can come up with for Scottish independence.

True that. And probably the best argument for the Tories to allow independence is to allow for free election wins for the next few decades, at least before they run down what remains of the United Kingdom to the ground.
