why people hate alonso so much? maybe im not into f1, maybe there's something behind all that, but what? i like the guy, if only for being the youngest champion ever.

I guess everyone has their favourites in F1, Alonso for many is just a young upstart who came from nowhere and has no pedigree to speak of. He's had plenty of luck on his way up and its generally true that Kimi would've probably bagged the championship last year (and McLaren as well) if it weren't for the mechanical problems; Renault's problems with the car were, unfortunately, heaped on poor Fisi while Alonso coasted to the top.

its his attitude and his luck. last season mclaren (kimi) had to end race many times before the end and then alonso won, those lucky moments, and not fight for the win, or he just drove away from the 1 position because he had the best car(not the fastest, but car had no tehnical problems), also remember what stupid thing he did in monaco...and well his celebrations are like they are, more like, "f-ck you Kimi i kicked your ass, or like this weekend, what the heck he did on the podium? he can be so childish. Doesnt seem to have respect for others.

He's had alot of luck; that's always a factor when you get people hating you. And as Tom said he's neither the down-to-earth Barrichello, ice-cool Kimi nor flamboyant Montoya. When a new kid on the block just has everything going his way he's bound to take some flak in a sport where established favourites are the ones who get the loudest cheers.

Because he gets more attention and praise than he really worths,
the press is desperately try to create a new myth,
for a while they were promoting Montoya, then Button,
now Alonso etc etc,
these pilots are excellent but they arent the semi-Gods they present them to be...
