The press conference was very emotional,
M.Schumacher was about to declare his retirement in Monza,
in Ferrari's home, this would be anyway dramatic for the thousand of fans outside,
but now he did as a winner, he announced this is the last time that he will ever race in Monza, the last time his fans will chant his name there,
new drivers will have to take his place, new players, as the young BMW's driver, Robert Kubica (a great talent) by his side
and the other side was standing the man that will drive his weels starting from next year,
Schumi didnt revealed that himself, he said the team will announce that
and Kimi was standing by his side...silent...

Schumacher's win, was the most important win of the championship (so far) as it practically restarts the championship 3 rounds before the end.

talent yes, charisma, no. dirtiness over everything else.
Dirtyness because of two gestures he did to try to win? I think his talent and professionalism cover for that.

Anyway, he's the best driver the sport has ever wittnessed and his numbers will stay marked for years to come.

Waiting for someone to label Alonso as the luckiest driver ever.
give him time, he's young. i'm eager to see him in mclaren. especially kimi in ferrari, i think he's gonna own there. i hate to see him leave mclaren though, i'd take him over alonso anyday.

Kimi will own in Ferrari, how long will the Alonso be so lucky and Kimi unlucky?

Alonso had an engine breakdown in Italy, how many times have this happened with him. His wins are so out of the blues frustrating. Hopefully Achumi will put him back where he belongs in the coming races of this season.

And Kimi to continue that as of next season :pint:

i'd say that's more the fault of renault's reliability rather than alonso's luck.

Alonso slams rival Schumacher

Reuters

Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso has launched a scathing attack on Michael Schumacher following the German driver's announcement that he will retire at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old Spaniard accused seven-times world champion Schumacher of being the most unsporting driver in the history of the sport.

He also compared Schumacher's departure unfavourably with that of French footballer Zinedine Zidane whose last act before retiring was to be sent off for headbutting Italian defender Marco Materazzi in the chest during the World Cup final.

"Zidane retired with more glory than Schumacher," Alonso was quoted as telling Radio Marca in yesterday's edition of the Spanish sports daily. "Michael is the most unsporting driver with the largest number of sanctions in the history of Formula One.

"That doesn't take away from the fact that he has been the best driver and it has been an honour and pleasure to battle against him. Everyone has their time and you have to respect his decision. Things will be more equal now."

Alonso also attacked what he saw as institutional bias in favour of Schumacher and his Ferrari team.

"In Formula One there are commercial and political interests," he said.

"We are talking about the most successful driver in history and a little bit of help has never gone amiss. Quite often they go over the line of what is acceptable and it is inexplicable."

Alonso was demoted five places to 10th on Sunday's Italian Grand Prix starting grid after stewards ruled that the Spaniard had impeded Ferrari's Brazilian Felipe Massa.

The Renault driver, who was adamant he had not blocked Massa, failed to finish the race because of an engine failure and his lead over Schumacher was slashed from 12 points to two after the German won the race.

"No one is going to believe the penalty I was given for a long time to come," Alonso said.

"One thing I am clear about, though, is that he who laughs last, laughs longest.

"Anyone can win the remaining races and if we get things right in two of the three races that are left the world championship will be ours."

Well for now i just hope that the ferrari car holds up, cuz i know that schumi's driving would be superb.

I always liked Kimi, great driver and i predict the samething to happen. In previous years he was just unlucky.

He's had more reliability than his teammate, so he's definately had some luck going his way. I look forward to karma balancing itself out as he moves to McLauren and Kimmi to Ferrari. [Hopefully for the drivers, not the teams!]
