The handicap we face by playing in Italy cannot be understated. No economic power and no players anymore.

It's below France and Germany because at least those clubs have domestic players to select from.

We have to operate like an EPL club but without the money or allure.

Nah, dude. It’s all about aesthetics. Italian stadiums are horrible. Ligue 1 and Bundesliga are not better leagues than Serie A.

1.05 billion / 3 seasons = 350mln

1.153 / 4 seasons = 288mln

Even with the lower bid from SKY its 323mln.

I still expected much more, guess Serie A is still not that attractive.

Its not 1.1 billion over 4 years but rather 1.1 billion euros a year from 2020-2024. You got it all wrong @j0ker

Yeah, I realized I fucked up :D

Pretty good deal for the French league, TBH.

A $#@! league with only 1 good team makes more money than Serie A :baus:
That's just PSG money laundering more income through a different strategy/pattern in order to justify their expensive transfer campaigns to the financial fair-play rules aswell as raising the level and appeal of the french league just so it would ultimately benefit them again as the supreme power of an relatively stronger league in the coming years.

But then maybe that's just me guessing

Ligue 1: 745.8--->1153 billion=+54%

Serie A: 945--->1050 billion= +11%

I do not understand why they put so much money, BeIn loses already a lot of money with the current agreement and Canal does not have the resources to invest.
Anyone who knows the Bundesliga TV deal compared to these two?

The Lega Serie A has confirmed the decision to drop Mediapro’s television rights bid and proceed to private negotiations.

On May 28, all 20 clubs voted to terminate the contract, but the Spanish broadcaster came up with some last-minute guarantees.

Those were presented at today’s meeting, but ANSA reports lawyers were unconvinced and the clubs decided to proceed to private negotiations.

Rather than putting all of the rights up for tender, the Serie A clubs will now work out a series of packages to be sold privately.

Those talks will take place over the next three days, with a decision due on June 13.

Could this be a positive thing for us ?

Well, that's what Real & Barca are doing, but I don't see how this will benefit small clubs and why would they be on board with this.

Sky Sport Italia and Perform have won the TV rights to Serie A for 2018-21 for €973m per year after Mediaset pulled out.

The bidding war had to resume after Mediapro saw their initial victory wiped out on appeal due to anti-trust laws.

Mediaset Premium had also been in talks for the rights today, but pulled out after the first round of bids.

“The rights have been assigned to Sky and Perform, while Mediaset did not present an offer,” confirmed Genoa President Enrico Preziosi.

“The offers were frankly better than we expected them to be. It was a difficult day, all negotiations are fraught, but at the end we all resolved it.”

The final figure is slightly below the target of €1.05bn, but a slight increase on the previous three years at €943m.

It looks as if the two companies will work together to ensure fans don’t need to purchase two different pay-per-view broadcaster contracts.

There are also assurances that the legendary programme 90’ Minuto, the first to show highlights of Sunday games on free-to-air TV, won’t have to be postponed to the evening.

barely an increase
