The :jj: brand will save us.
You joke, but in a way its a smart thing to do.

Touching on the whole money/winning CL debate from the other thread - like in any other industry, when the top 3 companies are so entrenched and dominating (real, barca, bayern) :

You either poach talent (like man city did with the barca directors and pep or PSG did with neymar)

or

Innovate

The JJ brand is an interesting innovation, and I'm happy that we are the first to do it

Yeah, I think it's redundant and won't generate any mentionable income, it will tho delete a historical crest to whom many have affection and a feeling of history and belonging. Appeal of clubs comes thru results and history; not because you can buy a t-shirt with a logo.

You can't identify with :jj: it's just another generic brand.

Too early to judge the impact but the idea is to open up new markets

Will there be attrition from existing customers who are attached to the historical badge? Maybe but I reckon it is minimal

And instead of competing in the saturated and overcrowded market where we dont have the edge over barca, real, man united...we open up a whole new market appealing to different customer segments and more marketing angles

(personally i think :jj: looks very sleek on the training gear and the caps...and I'm curious to see where else you can put the logo, its much more transferable now)

What new markets? Are you telling me we are to enter the domain of Nike and Adidas? Or are we to sell our merchandise in Aldi and Lidl? Are :jj: going to be a niche product liek the yankees baseball caps? Who are the consumers we are targetting? It has to be non-football fans interested in wearing sportswear; who are they? And why should they choose :jj: when the sportswear market is full of products and brands. Every single fitness personality as an example got clothing line. There are established brands known for quality, there's brand known for being the best at said sport.

Sorry but :jj: only appeals to Juventus fans.

Ever since :jj: came out, now every time I see Real Madrid, Inter, Milan's logos I think to myself how outdated they look.

Anyone else had that feeling?

Lets take an example of another 'brand' which has managed to transcend its sport.

And funnily enough, its from the same family which gives me a little bit of confidence that they know what they are doing.

FERRARI

Lots of people dont watch F1.

Owning the actual car is an even more niche market.

Yet,

- I'm sure you have seen the stores
- You can buy stuff that embodies the feeling of 'Ferrari' and some of their gear looks really good
- There is a Ferrari theme park in abu dhabi
etc etc

And you have any evidence suggesting that these consumers aren't a) Formula 1 Ferrari fans b) Fans/admirers of the cars?

Again please tell what new market it is :jj: is gonna compete on [with succes]?

"Football club brands usually symbolize places. With Juventus, we thought that the opportunity would be to challenge the conventions, and have Juventus stand for itself. We challenge the notion that Juventus is relevant only to football enthusiasts. We believe there is potential for Juventus to embody something deeper and broader and that means evolving this brand into initiatives, projects and radically innovative experiences, of which football will always be the origin, but never the limit. This will let the Club sustain its own growth both economic and sports-wise, and extend its influence."

"You can experience football in many different ways and there are ways to appeal to people who don’t normally go to the stadium and people who don’t always watch football — they might be entertainment enthusiasts. There may be products which are created to reflect the Juventus ethos and may be disconnected from football, but there’s a colossal difference between diversifying and putting the brand on anything to reinforcing the brand by carefully selected touch points and experiences, these includes, academy, immersive retail formats and a range of unique physical and digital products and services, to name just a few."

Me. I was browsing in Malpensa Airport, Milan. Bought a red Ferrari hat just cause I thought it looked cool. Never watched/followed F1 in my life and in general find car sports boring.

Did you read this yourself? It's nothing but empty words. Almost Orwell'sk newspeak.

I did and there are things like "academy, immersive retail formats and a range of unique physical and digital products and services, to name just a few." which is concrete.

Also, not mentioned in the article, but a huge untapped market - WOMEN

They might look outdated, but the old logos hold a lot of history and gives the club a certain character. Some would say the new JJ does as well, but to me its more laughable and not appealing at all - with all respect.

I would be pissed if Bayern Munich decided to change their logo. Its synonym with the club, just like the old Juventus logo was.
