So, if this trend continues (with only 1 italian team in the KO face), surely the market pool will shrink for the italians. No?

Been wondering this for a while aswel.

Feels like we are reaping short term benefits, but unless juventus can get into the semi's a few times, it will strink

Each country gets the same amount per team. So lets say its 25 million per team, a league with 4 representatives will have 100 mill to share, and 3 will have 75. Doesn't matter to us too much, except the more teams from Italy, and the earlier they go out, the more we get, as long as we go further than them.

I think with the new contract, it has become even bigger.

Moar money :D

Edit:

According to a report in Italian news outlet La Repubblica, the three-year contract, which will come into effect after the 2014/15 season, is worth €700 million (US$954.1 million) in total.

According to La Repubblica, Mediaset, which is set to pay US$95.4 million a year more than Sky’s current deal, will televise games on its Mediaset Premium platform

:agree:

But in EPL case the market pool will be 400mln more (over 3 seasons) than the new one for Italy.

Spain and Germany on the other hand have laughable deals compared to us.

our team sucks balls and there are less people at games but we watch a lot of tv. So our tv market pool is still green.
Btw i heard Mediaset paid 700m € for the 2015-2018 so it should be way more than 120m $ no?
