Seling Pogba and Vidal can lok like a "necessity" now.... but in disguise. In the end it can even do more harm thn good.
Yes, we will balance the books, but we will lose appeal, and very unique players on the process...which will be very hard to replace.

Im pretty sure Agnelli is seriously thinking about the company as a whole... and maybe he is tempted to do this sacrfice, which is undertandable in some way.... but we need to find a different approach and get out of this.

Selling Pogba and Vidal will do no good for us. Yes Suarez would be an improve, but then how we will make the ball reach to him without midfielders?.

The answer must be somehwere else...Vidal and Pogba are the backbone of our team right now

Vidal and Pogba are surely our most untouchable players. it could be argued that barzagli could be with them also, but he is a bit old. same for Pirlo.

I think we should accept that certain parts of the team are very good as they are, and instead of even making em better (and spending quite alot), we could look to the future and ages etc.

Frontline ? Getting better with every game considering Llorente blending in.

Asamoah and licht ? quality. caceres ? also quality.

defence ? barzagli, bonucci, chiellini and then there is ogbonna.

Buffon might have 2 years
Pirlo is an unknown factor.

We need to keep improving this team. llorente and pogba improving will do tons.
But we need a new CM/CAM to give us options

Suarez ? we got tevez

I think a lot of people are forgetting something very important. If we qualified in the CL, we would have finished second. That means we would have played one of Barca, Bayern, ath madrid, chelsea, United, psg etc. There was a very good chance that we would have crashed out in the second round. We didn't miss out on qf prize money, we just missed out on second round prize money.

Europa League obviously doesn't compare to the CL, but there are a lot of positives that can come out of it.

Financially:
if we think about this whole thing realistically, and consider that we would have gone out in round two in the CL, then we would be incurring no more than 15 to 20 M losses in the C.l. I don't have the exact figures, but that sounds about right.

If we win the Europa League, that's something like 10m in total revenue. That would be cutting our losses in half. Pretty significant if you ask me.

Prestige:
we're one of the most successful clubs in this competition and winning it would increase our prestige, and help attract WC players.

Juventus Stadium:
If we make it to the final against a team like tottenham, for example, this would attract a lot of buzz. It would make the final very watchable, and that is good for the image of the club. it's better to win the Europa League than finish in 16th place in the CL.

You need to walk before you can run:

We haven't been a big team in Europe for a while. let's not forget that this project is sum relatively new. I didn't expect us to win the Cl this year and I think most of you would agree that we were outsiders. not by much but still not close to being favorites. This Europa League thing could be good. It gives our players more experience in Europe, especially younger ones like pogba. it gives conte a third chance to change his system.

It gives the team a chance to gel, and get used to playing teams that aren't Italian. European teams have a very different mind set to Italian ones. While we have perfected the art of destroying local competition, we haven't learnt to deal with teams from Europe. Gala is a case in point. Blame the pitch all you want, when you get a point from 6 against a team that conceded
10 Goals from Madrid, something is wrong.

I'm being hopeful that this competition can somehow benefit is and if we take it seriously, I see no reason why it shouldn't.

Nicely put @rounder, Yes, I believe we do need the experience in Europa more than anything else, Winning it at our own stadium would be a huge bonus..

I say we go for this competition and try to win it all the way! The finals being at our home should be motivation enough, I hope Conte and the management feels the same..

I would have loved to meet Barca though, I feel we could finish them off real good!

In the link bellow are the results of last year's CL market pool distribution and it seems that clubs from the same associations get equal amount of market pool funds once they qualify for the CL group stages, independently of their future progress. Looking at EPL clubs of which only Man Utd and Arsenal made progress from their groups, while City and Chelsea were eliminated early in the tournament, they all relatively equally and considering their previous ranking in domestic league shared designated amount.

We won't suffer that much regarding our CL earnings (in comparison to what we could have realistically earned this season), unlike most of us including me had previously thought, if I simply go by this Uefa document. But as Italy have/had three CL participants this year, our market pool share will be significantly lower than the one we received last year and thus overall results will be impacted.

So it's better that we got knocked out from CL now because we could have faced Bayern and co in the Knockout stages, but it'd be cool if we faced Tottenham, Benfica or others in EL? As if it's a given that we would win against these teams. We could have also came up against United or PSG which I think we could have won against.

No matter how you put it, it's a big disappointment.

It also isn't given that we won't do well in EL as you always mention it :D

its time that you put your negative attitude in your ass, and get over yourself.
It happened, its bad and disgusting but it happened, time to move on and stop dwelling on the past
Everything is gnna be less ideal then making it trough the groups sure sure. But now we try to look at what we can salvage from this season and its positives.

I suggest you do the same. Instead of sitting around like a small child complaining it didnt get its toy, be a grown up. Be like more people here and look what we can do.

most are looking at the financial part. Its not that bad. so we hang onto that. A minor trebble isnt bad eighter if we make it. We should make it our goal. any team anticipating CL QF should and must target the EL final if things go wrong.

Your arrogance is remarkable.
And you missed the point, because the piece of shit you are forgot about what i said, just above.

We should look at weak spots or incomplete spots. We should not look at allready excellent players for us, and try to do even better.

Tevez is a keyplayer for juventus. One of the best. Upgrading to suarez is an improvement, but its ridiculously expensive. SO, "we have tevez". Its not a weak spot.
