Good read indeed. Two things i noticed was that we had 40mil more income compared to a year earlyer, not including CL

however, we still made 48mil deficit

The next rapport is going to tell us tons about what we can realistically do while beeing self sustained.

How much debt do we have and how comparible to the rest of Italy? Milan fans seem to think they have less debt but I cannot see that.
Our debt is negligible because Exor cleared it in the last two years. What we need to lower is our deficit, which should still be significant this season(probably something close to 20 million euros, I guess.)

Right well I saw a report the other day that said if we made it to the Champions League semi finals we'd break even. Let me see if I can find it.

What's important is that we're lowering our deficit every year since Agnelli and Marotta took over, which means that we're on the right path and on the road to sustainability.

We will break even quite soon indeed.

As the Champions League you delete the red

A study of financial Banca IMI: the budget should increase revenues and Champions Stadium, decrease net losses, but if Juve Cup semi-finals to come there would be a draw. As long as you do not spend too much for a top in January ...

TURIN, January 2, 2013 - If you arrive in the semifinals of the Champions League can reach the coveted balanced budget, as long as you do not overspend in the January purchasing (or "renting") a top player. But if you do not get a striker in January to the highest level decreases the chance of reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. Looks like a puzzle, indeed it is, and is haunting Andrea Agnelli, Beppe Marotta and Antonio Conte, the only one of three that will not hesitate to prevail in the technical requirements to those financial statements.

ILLUMINATING A report of Banca IMI, the investment banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, highlighted by Sole 24 Ore on Sunday is, in this sense, illuminating the situation in which there is the Juventus understood as a listed company and the football team in head the championship and the second round of the Champions League. According to the report of Banca Imi, in fact, the budget ending June 30, 2013 gives encouraging signs, after the good ones last year. Even in light of the September quarter, the forecast is good: revenues should increase by about twenty million euro from 229 to 249 of 06.30.2012 and net losses from 19.4 to 13.3.

JUVE rears You begin to see the positive effects of the Stadium (subscriptions which increased in number despite the price went up and the growth of parallel activities such as the Museum, the guided tour and merchandising) and, especially, ' revenue in the Champions League which benefits from the financial point of view are well known even to children. Moreover, in reference to the Cup, the forecast of the investment bank takes into account only the excess of the group stage, already acquired by Juventus. So you have to start counting the 3.5 million of the second round, which if passed would give the 3.9 quarters. Reasoning so optimistic and assuming a further step of the turn there would be 4.9 of the semifinals. At that point - according to the calculation made by the Sole 24 Ore that does not take into account the additional revenue from the box office - even the 13.3 million of losses provided by Banca IMI would be cleared and Juventus reach the landmark achievement of a balanced budget a year ahead of schedule. A striking result from the economic point of view, which would further strengthen the company Juve, but perhaps would dream a little 'less fans.

FISCAL CLIFF Because the play collapses in January when Juventus were to spend a significant amount from the assignment - to make the most obvious example - Didier Drogba, whose emoluments further weigh down the mountain engagements which, according to the report already grow to 8,000,000 this year and 13 next year. And one of the worst enemies of a balanced budget, the leaders of Serie A are well aware, it is the increase in expenses for salaries, bringing with them all heavy tax burden of the case.

JACKPOT UEFA So what? The report data of Banca Imi and processing Sole 24 Ore is a good key to understanding the behavior of Juventus in the January transfer window (and in the end also in June). We must therefore keep in mind that Agnelli is strongly interested in the economic health of the company, because the financial security depends on the long-term future of the club and the financial fairplay Platini sooner or later may fall like an ax on European football (even if - for now - Andrea believes in a moment). Just as we must consider that Marotta knows not have an unlimited budget style sheikhs for the market and points to players who by birth can be investments in the long term. Everything, in short, conspiracy against Didier Drogba in black and white and with a particularly expensive purchase in January (especially if the player in question could not play in the second phase of the Champions League). Unless you bet on the fact that Drogba can it win the Champions rush, pushing even higher the jackpot Uefa: in that case you could point to a balanced budget even with the bang winter. Agnelli and Marotta are willing to take this chance? Because with a balanced budget, perhaps, the bang can reach in the summer.

I did not translate word for word but here's mainly what it says.

How the Champions League gets you out of the red

A financial study done by the bank Imi explains that on its balance sheet, Juventus has to raise revenues generated by the Champions League and the stadium and diminish net losses. However, if Juventus reaches the semifinals of the Champions League, the club will break even as long as they do not spend too much for a top player in January. Nevertheless, if the club does not sign a bomber(top striker), the chances of reaching the semifinals of the CL will be quite scarce. It looks like a tough decision for the club and this is haunting Andrea Agnelli, Beppe Marotta, and Antonio Conte, the latter being the only of the three who has no doubt on the greater importance of upgrading the technical abilities of the teams rather than caring about the balance sheet.

The bank's report is very encouraging as for the financial year that will end on June 30th 2013. The revenues will increase by about 20 million euros, going up from 229 million euros at the same date last year to 249 million euros, with net losses going down form 19.4 to 13.3 million euros.

Juventus is starting to witness the positive effects of the new stadium, with season tickets being sold in greater numbers, attendances rising, the activities linked to the club's museum, marketing, and most of all, the return to the Champions League. If the club reaches the semi finals, it will break even one year earlier than anticipated as the club will approximately generate 3,5 million euros in revenue for the round of 16, another 3,9 million euros if it reaches the quarter finals, and a further 4,9 million euros if they reach the semi finals.

The greatest enemy of this possibility of breaking even this year is the acquisition of a player like Didier Drogba, whose wages would render this possibility impossible.

It is hard to determine how the club will act in January as Andrea Agnelli is very concerned about the club's financial health due to the necessity of reaching financial sustainability as soon as possible due to the arrival of Financial Fairplay. Thus, Marotta won't have an illimited budget for the Winter mercato.

I spoke with my dad and grandma when I grew up and then took the equivalent of two years in Italian (12 credits) in a year in intensive courses at my university.

I'm fluent but I don't often get the opportunity to speak in Italian.
Ah right, cool, I know bits of Italian but cant string many sentences together, did you find it difficult to grasp the whole language?

No, but I think I had it easier because French is my first language. Italian is a lot closer to French than English and several words are quite similar, as are conjugations.

Anyhow, it's not a very hard language to learn, I'd say it's harder than English but easier than French.

Yup, I most of the time get the general idea when reading sentences, as you said the words are quite similar.

great article and good translation

I'm inclined to say, if we cant land Llorente, should take the gamble and trust our current group

we should see off celtic, quarterfinals makes us close to break even.

i'd say its not worth taking the risk of purchasing anyone, and then perhaps still miss semi's. we could be drawing anyone after all

I think, at the start of the season, the board wanted to make it to the knockout round

without any stupid crap happening, we'l be getting into the quarters, and scudetto, that will take quite the efford to lodge us from first spot.
Should stick to objectives, dont change them and take risk investment.

Only think i'd be for, is a swap, like quag-osvaldo, even tho i prefer to keep quag. but definatly no net spend
