This is the press release from the official website regarding the sponsorship. What was interesting to me is that its only till 2010, which could be a bit concerning but considering the current climate its not too bad depending on how much they are paying.

«We are proud – declared Jean-Claude Blanc – that a new partner of international fame like Sony Ericsson, already very active in the sponsorship of great international sporting events, has chosen Juventus as a communication vehicle. I think there is a strong sharing of values between our two companies as well as innovation and an attentive look towards the future. In sport, just like in technology, it is indispensable to field professionalism and passion in order to attain ambitious objectives».
Maurizio De Palma declared: «Sony Ericsson has been in the past few years very present on world level in the sporting world. We are in fact title sponsors of the WTA Tour, the professional female tennis circuit since 2005 and up to 2011. It is in fact the most important sponsorship in the female sporting world. A few months ago the partnership with FIFA was announced: Sony Ericsson will therefore be the partner for the football World Cup in South Africa in 2010. On this basis we have decided to sign a partnership even on Italian level. We have therefore chosen to bind ourselves to Juventus to reinforce our position as entertainment leader. Juventus is a team of great tradition, capable of stimulating great passion and energy within a great and faithful public».
«This partnership – added Marco Fassone – is another important step within our new sponsorship strategy which, a couple of years before in respect to the objectives, brought us to define the pool of primary level company partners which shared our vision. I think that our new way of going about sponsorships, guarantee exclusive projects for our partners and thus are even more interesting for the brands that have a strong sensibility for all that is innovative and of immediate revenue to the business. Sony Ericsson, with this agreement, will be able to benefit from a range of rights which will allow it to communicate to the market and take advantage of the Juventus image for their own product campaigns».
«Our objective is to create, thanks to the partnership between Juventus and Sony Ericsson, innovative entertainment offers to render the fans’ experience even more exciting – concluded Francesca Guerra – With our mobile phones and our services the Juventus fans will be able to love their emotions holistically and be actively involved in the many initiatives which we will organize together with Juventus. Our partnership will allow us to create products, services and exclusive content, to reinforce our institutional communication and at the point of sale and to realize the incentives at sales and promotional level which will guide us up to the 2010 World Cup».
