Interesting you mention that. I also want to know how much SE is paying us for the sponsorship. As far as I know, and I'm sure you know this too, Sony Ericsson is in deep financial trouble.
Great they are going to tank and their goes our sponsorship money...Apple would have been great if somehow we could have landed it.

nuttin really. just a but much technical business for my biology head to comprehend. mind breakin it down into layman's terms?
Sure thing. Market cap is simply the number of shares of stock in circulation times the price of those shares. So basically, with our market cap being 140.68 million, that's how much someone would have to pay to buyout the club, along with other fees. The volume is simply the number of shares traded for a certain amount of time, generally being around 140,000 shares during a three month period. The 52-week price range is simply the range the price of the stock has been trading, with 0.6250 being the lowest price a share of our stock was sold for.

We used to trade over 2 Euros a share before Calciopoli, but since then our stock has declined incredibly. It's hard to know if we have "hit a bottom" when it comes to our stock price, and theoretically it could go lower if the world stock markets continue to slide.

What needs to be sorted out is our net debt position so that we can have positive earnings per share. I'm not sure about the norm for football clubs with respect to earnings per share as pretty much all clubs have some form of debt. But from a business perspective these figures below don't look particularly good.

EPS Est (next year) : 0.0000
Revenue (next year) : 225.30M
Net Debt (next year) : 21.70M
Avg Rec (current)* : 2.02.02.0N/A

And this is a five year chart of our stock.

I don't know that they are having any more problems than anyone else in the industry.
Quickly looking over their balance sheet and income statement, it doesn't seem like they're as bad off as other players in the industry or other industries. Their stock seems to be slightly outperforming the market, which is obviously a good thing.

The Juve management, as far as I'm concerned, are pretty sound businessmen (even if their footballing judgement ain't great).

I trust them not to do anything so stupid as to enter an important contract with a company in serious financial trouble.

True, but I still don't think they are stupid when it comes to making business deals.
Nothing against you red but i keep hearing Juve fans saying that our board are not that great in the sporting department but they're excellent financially. What makes them think that this is a fact ?

clearly they are....look at out team and the wages of the players bought!
I consider them to be sporting deals.

It is just the way things have gone.

The club is making good progress towards recovering from the financial damage done by Calciopoli, partially down to how well the management have handled things in the last few years (signing sponsorship deals, the new stadium seems to be going well).

However, the progress on the pitch possibly hasn't been as good on the pitch as off it and so the idea has developed, not unreasonably, that they have not done so well when it comes to signing players.

This is the press release from the official website regarding the sponsorship. What was interesting to me is that its only till 2010, which could be a bit concerning but considering the current climate its not too bad depending on how much they are paying.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Juventus and Sony Ericsson, a leading company in the global communications market, presented today the agreement reached thanks to which Sony Ericsson became a Juventus “Official Partner”. The press conference saw the participation of Juventus general manager Jean-Claude Blanc, and communications director, Marco Fassone as well as the Sony Ericsson Italia head of marketing Maurizio De Palma and the head of marketing communication Francesca Guerra. The official presentation to the public will take place in occasion of the Juventus-Inter match scheduled for the 18th of April at the Turin Olympic Stadium.

The partnership which will last up to the end of June 2010, includes Sony Ericsson in the group of sponsors of the first level with a concoction of rights ranging within media visibility, the Juventus image and public relations activities.

The agreement fits in with the consolidated commercial strategy of Juventus which intends to select international high profile companies with which to share the marketing vision, realize partnership projects and evaluate both brands.

Amongst the very first initiatives that act as testimonial to the value of the agreement reached are the Sony Ericsson Juventus Edition mobile, the Juventus panel for Xperia X1 and Playnow Arena with special Juventus content.

In the future there will also be the presentation of the Juventus version of the Sony Ericsson mobile in limited edition, a mobile conceived with all those who have Juventus at heart in mind. The product will be developed on the basis of the experienced gained from the F305 FIFA Edition model, the gaming jewel by Sony Ericsson containing 61 default games and as from today also the FIFA 09 Motion Football Gaming game.

Shortly a Juventus panel for the multimedia mobile gadget Xperia1, the most technologically advanced model by Sony Ericsson will be presented. The panel – an innovative personalized interface – in the Juventus version will allow the supporters to have all the Juventus world within a click: a link to Juventus.com, JuventusMember.com and JuveStore.com. Furthermore, the fans will be able to access the contents pertaining to the Juventus world even through the main social networks such as Facebook. Finally, they will also have the basic personal functions such as organizer, contacts and mail. The panel will be offered by Sony Ericsson and Juventus as from May.

Playnow Arena, the Sony Ericsson on-line store, which allows the downloading of a lot of content such as songs, games, ring tones, wallpapers and themes directly from the mobile phone will be enriched further with special content linked to the Juventus world such as songs, screensavers and wallpapers.

«We are proud – declared Jean-Claude Blanc – that a new partner of international fame like Sony Ericsson, already very active in the sponsorship of great international sporting events, has chosen Juventus as a communication vehicle. I think there is a strong sharing of values between our two companies as well as innovation and an attentive look towards the future. In sport, just like in technology, it is indispensable to field professionalism and passion in order to attain ambitious objectives».

Maurizio De Palma declared: «Sony Ericsson has been in the past few years very present on world level in the sporting world. We are in fact title sponsors of the WTA Tour, the professional female tennis circuit since 2005 and up to 2011. It is in fact the most important sponsorship in the female sporting world. A few months ago the partnership with FIFA was announced: Sony Ericsson will therefore be the partner for the football World Cup in South Africa in 2010. On this basis we have decided to sign a partnership even on Italian level. We have therefore chosen to bind ourselves to Juventus to reinforce our position as entertainment leader. Juventus is a team of great tradition, capable of stimulating great passion and energy within a great and faithful public».

«This partnership – added Marco Fassone – is another important step within our new sponsorship strategy which, a couple of years before in respect to the objectives, brought us to define the pool of primary level company partners which shared our vision. I think that our new way of going about sponsorships, guarantee exclusive projects for our partners and thus are even more interesting for the brands that have a strong sensibility for all that is innovative and of immediate revenue to the business. Sony Ericsson, with this agreement, will be able to benefit from a range of rights which will allow it to communicate to the market and take advantage of the Juventus image for their own product campaigns».

«Our objective is to create, thanks to the partnership between Juventus and Sony Ericsson, innovative entertainment offers to render the fans’ experience even more exciting – concluded Francesca Guerra – With our mobile phones and our services the Juventus fans will be able to love their emotions holistically and be actively involved in the many initiatives which we will organize together with Juventus. Our partnership will allow us to create products, services and exclusive content, to reinforce our institutional communication and at the point of sale and to realize the incentives at sales and promotional level which will guide us up to the 2010 World Cup».

Sony Ericsson is a leading company in the global telecommunications market with over 97 million mobile phones sold in 2008. The variety of the offer is one of the strong points of the brand which works in over 80 countries and possesses factories in China and R&D centres in China, Europe, India, Japan and North America. Sony Ericsson was born in October 2011 as a joint venture (50-50) between Sony and Ericsson with the headquarters in London. For more information visit www.sonyericsson.com .

WRONG and WRONG, inaccurate, misleading, over simplified and just wrong.. I always have a little laugh when people like you start to talk about EPS and market cap. Stick to predicting the weather
