Player wise we are on par with anyone out there and i expect us to win whoever the opponent is. But we are talking about finances here. Barca is about to get 150M a year from nike, they were offering us a pathetic 16M last season. Same as Real, they will also get a huge contract with adidas. Chelsea just got a 60M deal with nike and United is earning over 70M from adidas. Bandwagoners are making their fanbases increase every year and they continue growing in every aspect and increasing their gap to us. They are getting ridiculously high sums from multiple sponsors while we still arent up there and thats the problem, we still arent seen as a topclub by potential sponsors and unless something changes in Italy soon we will continue to fall behind Real, Barca and the EPL money wise. We need a couple of strong CL runs with 2-3 wins in the coming years as well as Milan getting their $#@! together and give us a serious challenge in Italy and become a CL QF club again to attract more money to the league and atleast decrease the gap. Even Bayern will soon have trouble to keep up if they cant attract huge international sponsors
Basically we totally agree. We need to reduce the Gap in the field. If we manage to do It, we could renegotiate any stupid deal we have at the moment. Don't worry, a 80-100m deal is coming, Pogs would be the most marketable player in the world behind CR7

He's talented, he's goofy, he's his own style, he's a big mouth, he doesn't have any concern to be expose, he's our #10. He would take us there

I was just thinking with emerging brands like Under Armour and New Ballance who dont sponsor a top club(Pool and Spurs are their top clubs ffs) or even Puma who have Arsenal as its top club, woudld you consider going for it if you were Juve if they offered a hefty sum, like 50-60M for example ?

Or would be that be short sighted since its still a emerging brand which may not sell as much as Nike or Adidas jerseys ?

What do the experts here think.Just a small discussion.

Who get's the money from sold jerseys? Adidas or Juve? Never understood that.

Yeah, without a doubt I'd go for it if the price is in that range. People don't buy jerseys for the brand that manufacture them, but for the club associated with it. And also since both Nike and Adidas have a habit to deliver an ugly jersey on their year kind of often, I'd take a chance without thinking twice.

But I'd doubt those brand would be able to afford those numbers.

I remember we had a discussion around United's deal some yrs ago where a report said United gave up its licensing and merchandising to get this huge deal. That would mean all money from jersey sales go to Adidas i presume ?

In Juve's deal,we have a fixed licensing and merchandising deal worth 6M a yr.

"Adidas will manage all Juventus’ licensing and merchandising activities for a fixed consideration of €6 million per annum. The club may also benefit from additional royalty payments upon exceeding a threshold of sales.

Guys those crying cause other teams get more money....
It's obvious they have the names that make a selling.
Having Ronaldo or Messi would make the difference.

We need players famous at international level.

That and the club should also portray Juventus as CL contenders. I think this is the first time after 2006 the president said we are on par with Barca, Bayern. That's the promise, now we must live up to the promise. Next year Juve must eliminate some of these top clubs from CL. There can only be so many teams at the top, we can't go up without knocking some down first.

We have them,we need to just retain them and that alone will be a difficult job now.

Tough question. I'd stay with Adidas and continue getting better deals with them. Not sure UnderArmour or NB would suddenly draw people to buy more kits. I miss the old Kappa ones but the money is with Adidas IMO.

Anyone know how much Pool & Spurs get from them?

It seems spurs are switching to Nike anyway(£30M(€39M) a yr)

What is that compared to the other teams in the league from their providers? Is it high because its an "off" brand or high because its just the EPL and everything is high?
Chelsea will get €80M from Nike from 2017
United already get €95M from Adidas
Arsenal get €39M from Puma
City earn €19M from Nike but they will renew shortly with a much bigger deal

The high figure is a combination of both EPL and club's popularity.Liverpool still a very popular club even if they are mid-table.

Jersey brands don't draw people to buy football kits. No one buys a jersey for its brand.

Football clubs do get people into buying their kits by playing on the pitch and with their makerting efforts.

I think we need to stay with Adidas and continue to build our brand which will get us a better deal in a couple years. I think by looking at the top clubs in Europe are all with Adidas or Nike, that should say a lot.
