I just read that Trez was handed the armband in yesterdays game against Barca, in the second half.

I think Canna should have been given the armband. I knoe he's only in his second season here, but he is a better leader than Trez, and is also the captain of the Azzurri

Here would be my order of who should receive the captains armband-

Buffon (when he comes back)

I agree about the first three but Buffon? FFS, the guy can't even lead his own defence. He's a pure shot stopper

personally Emerson or Cannavaro would be my immediate picks for captain.

Vieira is not familiar enough with Juventus to take the Captain's armband, something that is a huge honor and should be given to somebody who has earned it. Buffon IMO does not have the leadership skills to take the Captaincy as somebody said earlier he cannot lead his defense and I like a captain who plays the field anyway.

There is only one choice in my mind and that is Fabio Cannavaro. He is a true leader who always makes himself vocal and leads by example, and showed everybody last year his great resilience after having to deal with the '99 Parma video released to the media. Fabio also showed the world that he is indeed still a world class defender and was one of our most important players last season. He deserves the armband if Del Piero will not be wearing it anymore.

Gigi is experienced enough and he's one of main players in our squad, and sometimes he IS main player

The armband was probably more of a preventative measure to keep his shoulder attached in the game.
