Three of the four big teams in Serie A look in good stride after their first 2 league games, but one of them looks like a pup away from its litter. That pup is AS Roma.

The Giallorossi are pointless after games against Bologna and Modena, and coach Fabio Capello has to take action, and fast. The Roma lads have been truly disappointing thus far and one must wonder what is in store for them this season. As most of us know,Roma president Franco Sensi and coach Fabio Capello are not the best of friends, and if the latter fails to get his troops to string some good results together soon,he could be on his way out of the club.

Defending Champions Juventus and an inform AC Milan have been the complete opposite however. Both sides are unbeaten in all competitions and have maintained a 100% record throughout their first 2 league games. Marcello Lippi's Juve started off against Atalanta, and thanks to an Alessandro Del Piero double "La Vecchia Signora" cruised to a confident 3-0 win. Milan kicked off their campaign against newcomers Modena, and were also triumphant 3-0 courtesy of a Pippo Inzaghi brace. Both players (Del Piero and Inzaghi) carried their sparkling form into the next round of matches and were among the goals in their club's 2-0 and 3-0 wins respectively. DP tops the scoring charts with 4 goals and will be hoping to add to his tally against Parma on Saturday, while Inzaghi and Milan have a tough match away to Lazio.

Now onto Inter. To be fair they haven't been impressive at all,but have 6 points after 2 games nevertheless (1-0 against Torino and 2-1 against Reggina). The Nerazzurri have signed Italian internationals Fabio Cannavaro and Francesco Coco, along with Argentine hitman Hernan Crespo, and if Hector Cuper can get them to gel together quickly with the rest of the squad, the Milan giants may be the team to beat this season.

Well that's all from DP's_Apprentice for now, next time : Italian teams in the Champions League.

There are only 3 IMO Lazio lack depth

their attack hails one good forward C Lopez
But no good Striker I mean S Inzaghi isn't exactly the top choice

But Cragnotti is doing the right thing in Down Scalling the Team

If it works out they will become as fierce as Parma of the late 90's....

Corradi, Manfredini are interesting signings so is Fiore and Giacanedcha.......

Its nice to finally not see them as a rival.............

Hardly, they are going down, and Cragnotti is just braking the fall.

Lets not be too hasty to write off Roma, the season is not 4 games old yet
Why not, we've all already pencilled Juve in for the Scudetto.

2 of the 4 Italian representitives in Europe's elite competition top their groups, and the other 2 are in with a good chance of qualifying. Is this a new era in Europe for Italian football?

Turin giants Juve have taken control of their group and look almost certain of qualification, while the blackandreds of Milan have took the group of death by the scruff of it's neck, disposing of top teams such as Deportivo la Coruna and Bayern Munich. Inter however, haven't had the same fortunes that the Bianconeri and the Rossoneri have. The Nerazzurri started out well enough with an away draw with Rosenborg and a home win against Ajax, but on Matchday 3 the story was very different for Hector Cuper's men. Inter were thoroughly outplayed and went down to Olimpique Lyonnais by 2 goals to 1 in the San Siro. Despite this result, the Italian league leaders have a good chance of qualifying. Now onto Roma. The Giallorossi suffered a horrible start to the season, losing their 1st 3 games, but look to have bounced back strongly. The won away to Brescia in Serie A thanks to a Francesco Totti hat-trick and collected their 1st 3 points in Europe with a 1-0 triumph against Genk.

Juve are looking extremely hard to beat, after teaching a lesson to Dinamo Kiev and disposing of Newcastle 2-0 thanks to an inspirational Alessandro Del Piero (scorer of both goals). If the Juve captain (who has scored 11 goals in 8 games) can continue scoring goals and playing the way he is,La Vecchia Signora may be the team to beat. But right now,the team to beat looks to be AC Milan. The Rossoneri have a 100% record in Europe, which consists of wins against Deportivo la Coruna (4-0) and Bayern Munich (2-1),and are unbeaten in their domestic league. Their in-form player is SuperPippo Inzaghi, who has notched up an astonishing 7 goals in 3 games in the CL.

Is these two teams can continue to play like they are now,we may very well see an Italian team in the Champions League final this season.

    That's all from DP's_Apprentice for now,until next time,Forza Juve!
