Most world player of year awards are run by FIFA - blatant lovers of all things french, & haters of all things Italian, or France football - note a theme here? Zidane is the best player on this list, and that is why I voted for him.

I have been lucky enough to see most of these players playing live, and they all held one's attention but Zizou made you hold your breath.
The sheer wonder of what he could do was truely wonderous to behold.
