i love ale and all but zidane is the best, and if im being honest, ale would be round the bottom of that list (had he not got injured in 98 and carried on with the amazing form into the world cup and so on, maybe he would be at the top but the fact is he did get injured and the ale after that wasn't the same one)

I voted baggio but the best player ever is diego maradona
I have the luck of seeing him playing in Boca and even when he was in his thirties ending his carreer after 2 years outside football he was from another planet.

Ronaldinho will pass that, &you can't tell me he's the greatest of all time. Most world player of year awards are run by FIFA - blatant lovers of all things french, & haters of all things Italian, or France football - note a theme here? They are as useless as the FIFA World Rankings. And as for the post with a link to 2002 CL final goal, can someone post one of Steve Mcmanamans goal & argue he's the best ever player? Come on people, he aint that good.

I voted for Ronaldo. When he was young he was simply superb. But people saying Zidane is overrated make me laugh. Zidane overrated? Just look at his trophy list.

Figo is one of the best players of our times, so what if he played with Madrid and now he plays with Inter. Some people's subjectivity really gets on one's nerves.

I voted for Figo. What can I say, the players who have absolutely no speed and still manage to become one of the best earn my admiration.

Zidane is the best player on this list, and that is why I voted for him.

I have been lucky enough to see most of these players playing live, and they all held one's attention but Zizou made you hold your breath.
The sheer wonder of what he could do was truely wonderous to behold.
