Omg I switched off after 2-0.. But the good thing I learned, is that uefa.tv broadcasts a lot of free stuff, including replay of CL final (not sure if was shown live) and this u21 tournament

Condolences for all the Azzurini fans (they're like my second fave U21 team), but what an entertaining match. This was a fun game with some great goals and serious drama (but not over-drama).

Italy has a decent squad, but they're not quite there yet to take on the elite tier in Europe just yet. The semis should be interesting, even if the Netherlands somehow made it in over France and Germany barely survived Denmark.

Tbh Dany Mota has been in Serie B since forever, he's good but I don't see him as anything special. He's also 23 year old playing in an U21 tournament, this nonsense needs to stop.

Man, it's always delicious when Portugal knocks out Spain ... especially when Spain is the reigning champion.

Portugal for the most part looked poor save for their execution on defense ... kind of adjusting for their failures against Italy. Spain had all the organized attacks, the corners, etc. Portugal could throw some limbs in and disrupt the opportunity -- plus some great keeper saves. I had no idea where they were going to get their goal from.

Sure enough, late in the second half they started finding some breakaway counterattack opportunities but still couldn't break down the Spanish CBs. So it took a cross to an open winger at the opposite post, who surely would have missed, and a Spanish defender deflected it into the roof of the net.

Football works that way sometimes. :D

Mota didn't do much. This match was about Diogo Costa in goal, the three Diogos in defense (Leite, Qeuiros, and Dalot), and some long-ball counterattacking threats from Vitinha on the right wing.

For ECQU21 with Montenegro and Luxembourg.

GK: Marco Carnesecchi (Cremonese), Alessandro Plizzari (Milan), Alessandro Russo (Alessandria)

D: Raoul Bellanova (Girondins de Bordeaux), Riccardo Calafiori (Roma), Andrea Carboni (Cagliari), Gabriele Ferrarini (Perugia), Antonino Gallo (Lecce), Matteo Lovato (Atalanta), Caleb Okoli (Cremonese), Andrea Papetti (Brescia), Lorenzo Pirola (Monza), Iyenoma Destiny Udogie (Udinese)

M: Marco Brescianini (Monza), Jacopo Da Riva (Spal), Nicolò Fagioli (Juventus), Filippo Ranocchia (Juventus), Samuele Ricci (Empoli), Nicolò Rovella (Genoa), Sandro Tonali (Milan)

F: Matteo Cancellieri (Hellas Verona), Lorenzo Colombo (Spal), Sebastiano Esposito (Basilea 1893), Roberto Piccoli (Atalanta), Emanuel Vignato (Bologna), Kelvin Yeboah (Sportklub Sturm Graz)

=========================================

Strong goalkeepers. Some interesting prospects in defence, especially Lovato, Calafiori, Pirola and Udogie. Naturally, the future Azzurri midfield there with Ranocchia, Fagioli and Rovella @DanielSz Tonali on the bench.

Vignato stands out up front but there are a couple of eternal wonderkids there too. I've no idea who the hell Kelvin Yeboah is.

Yes he is, didn't even spot him in the list. Might be the best of those, but we'll see.
Yeah, I don’t know a lot about him, but tonight is a nice opportunity to see him against us.

My brains can’t comprehend the fact that we own 50% of the Azzurrini midfield and none of them will have a chance of playing with us this season.

The team looks nice again, but a bit less than a few years ago. That generation was nice with Zaniolo, Lorenzo Pellegrini, etc. Ive seen a few games of Plizzari and he impressed me aswel
