La Liga, Serie A to be broadcast in Australia

Football supporters eager to see Spanish and Italian top-flight football have had their wish granted, with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus set to be screened

Fans can see La Liga and Serie A action on Australian TV after Fox Sports gained exclusive rights to two of the world's top leagues for the next two seasons.

The pay TV channel will broadcast two live matches from both leagues every week, as well as another two on delay.

It comes at the perfect time with Fox to show the Turin derby between Torino and Serie A champions Juventus at 8.30pm [AEST] on Sunday.

That will come after 'El Derbi Madrileno' between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid at 6am on the same day.

Melbourne Heart coach John Aloisi, who was the first Australian to play and score in La Liga, the English Premier League and Serie A, said the deal was great for fans.

"It is fantastic for Australian football fans to be able to enjoy two of the top club competitions in world football," he said.

"Fans can not only look forward to watching big matches such as the Manchester derby, but now they can catch the Milan and Madrid derbies, and see world-class players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo live every week."

About fucking time. Fox Sports will treat it with respect and will always bring great production values. I'll never forget what ONE HD did when they had the rights :sergio:

And AFL, yeah these rights were jus negotiated with Fox Sports in Australia.

Unfortunately, tonight's scheduled broadcast of Torino v Juventus has been cancelled. The forced change is due to a last minute complication.Fox Sports wishes to apologise for this unavoidable schedule change and looks forward to bringing fans live Serie A throughout the season.

Absolutely pathetic. Serie A fans always getting dicked around in this country.
