the city is devided into areas\clusters. each area has its own Mall. Walking into them feels pretty much the same. Surely they may not be justified, but they are all very busy all the time and it is very rare that you'ld walk into one and find it empty.

As long as there is demand, it will keep on happening. We only have around 7 major malls in Dubai.

who said Malls are not for the poor. Heck, I would only think the poor are the only ppl who shop. Rich ppl travel to the likes of UK and France to do their shopping from.

I meant that the poor folk go to the malls to cool themselves because they can't afford air con :D

Here the fuel hike is happening almost every quarter... I'll have to sell my bike for a bicycle soon if this goes on for too long...

Not anytime soon. There is a hike of 20 Fils \Litr now and another one before end of year. I got my car in 2004. And used to get the full tank for 70 Dirhams, now it is for 97 Dirhams or so. And I give the rest of the 100 to the gas guy.
