The only logical explanation is that he has someone already. If not, then I agree with you.

Is that even official? I don’t see anything on that
Not official but im reading it's already at an advanced stage.

I just want to remind that the transfer window will close on August 30.
Giuntoli is the one that needs the reminder.

It’s blatantly obvious they are

But we are the bigger suckers for continually looking to buy players from this dead league. There’s other leagues in the world but we always go back to the Italian well. Our own fault.

And there is no way we are signing him now either. Especially if they sell Lookman.
We got Douglas Luiz and Thuram from abroad. We do business in Italy because elsewhere you need cash to buy, which we don't have so we are trying to extend the payment by offering loans, trades, etc.

Complicated last days of the transfer market at Atalanta . Ademola Lookman has asked not to be called up for the league debut against Lecce . Like him, Koopmeiners is also absent, having done the same a few weeks ago. Luca Percassi, Atalanta's administrator, spoke to Sky Sport about the situation.

When asked about the future of the players, Percassi replied: " We are very calm. Our idea, shared by everyone, coach, owners and club, was not to let these important players leave, for the first time in our history . We have always respected all our obligations, we can't wait for this transfer market to end, which has brought us some bad luck, such as Scamacca's injury. The club will decide the future".
Then, on the players' choices, he replied: " We didn't expect certain things. We are very calm. Our fortune is that the company has shown willingness to invest. Our will is to continue doing: we are ready to seize some activities".

Finally: " Unfortunately, very often players are advised inappropriate things. Of course, the transfer market being open when the game is played makes it infinitely time-consuming ."

If i'm Atalanta, I'd tell Juve we're close to a deal ---- and then jack up the price a little more.

They know Giuntoli is desperate and terrible at his job. Why not get a few more million on top of an already big overpayment? Not even for the money, but just to laugh at his expense.

They’re doing exactly that

You do that and no club wants to deal with you anymore. In business, dishonor is the worst.

Are they? To me it looks like they put that high price from very beginning back in may

Everyone laughed at them for daring to do thats. after all how dare these poor serie a clubs try and make a profit out of their important players.

Then guinyoli who also laughed said fuck u I’ll wait tilll very end when you desperate to sell so I can get him for 20m less. Now everyone acting shocked that Atalanta told juve and its supporters to go fuck themselves. Pay up or they keep him.

Now everyone is shocked that a club stood its ground instead of selling players desperately like juve.

In this case Koopmeiners is trying to force his way out. Atalanta has a legitimate reason to fleece the buyer.

Standing your ground is not a very smart negotiation tactic.

Seriously do I have to explain this to you? If you mean to sell your player for 60m you put a 70m tag on them. Nobody pays the sticker price.

When clubs ask for more money for their players

Tuzzers: “how dare these serie a clubs try to get best possible transfer”

When juve does same:

Tuzzers” how dare these serie a clubs try and give us lower offer than player is worth”

Hypocrites

You don’t even know what the offer from June is.

This deal has been locked for a while, Juve is doing Atalanta a favor of allowing them to replace him before they announce it. That way Atalanta can sign players without everyone raising their prices

Apparently no one pays sticker price on players. You always negotiate lower price

Except when signing 4th goalies. You don’t negotiate a lower price there. You just blindly give 20m

They bought two potential replacement, Samardzic and Brescianini and yet nothing happened.
