I really hope we have a backup plan.

I would not be surprised if this dragged out until the end of the window and either someone swoops in or we don't bid enough. We can't afford to leave it to the end of the window and scramble to sign someone last minute like we did when we signed Kean.

In the great words of The Joker of Heath Ledger..

Does Giuntoli looks like a guy with a plan?

Obviously Bergamo Calcio doesn't want to do business with us, why do we keep trying when they continue to raise their asking price? It's almost like they're trolling us and Jungtoli is too stupid to realize it.

To be fair on Koop’s case I’m pretty sure the reason we are willing to paying that much, are still putting up with Atalanta and don’t have a “Plan B” is probably because Motta ask specifically for Koop, that’s the only reason I can think of.

So in this case Giuntoli is doing his job, Motta probably said “Bring me Koop no matter what” and he is doing it.

So Giuntoli didn’t give Allegri a single thing he wanted but will ruin our entire mercato to sarisfy Motta?

Giuntoli needs to get sacked if he fails to get this transfer over the line.
He’s allocated most of our transfer budget, and hasn’t even been able to raise the money needed for it by failing to sell any of the players frozen out of the squad. He’s also spent so much time getting this done, that we haven’t been able to pursue any alternatives.
Sacking would be too radical. He's not here just to take care of the mercato but also to fix the overall financial health of the club.

It would take a failure of epic proportions like failure to qualify for CL for two consecutive seasons or something to get him sacked.

There's a lot of similarities to Beppe's 2010 mercato. Wasting too much time on securing one player (Koopmeiners/Krasic), scrambling for panic buys at the end of the window (Kalulu and some other scrub will be the Rinaudo/Traore of this mercato) and freezing out players that you didn't expect. Chiesa is surely the Diego in this situation.
