yeah fuck off atalanta. the player said publicly like in february that he wanted to leave this summer. they are just playing hardball for the sake of it
didn't they have an agreement if a top club wanted him they would let him go?

dunno but after agnelli's famous statement i'm sure they wouldn't consider jj a top club :p

anyway he said it in march not february:

and i bet he communicated it much earlier internally. they are just being dicks for the sake of it

Probably. Feels like theyre just trying to make koop the bad guy so their fans get mad at him instead of them. Lol poverty.
I think so too. The usual act: "We don't want to sell, but the player forces our hand, we're victims here". Then wipe their tear with money, 50M money.

Agresti said Koop is our number 1 target. Our mercato surrounds him. Koop wants to leave, his family wants to stay in Italy, Atalanta promises to sell if a big offer comes. All point to one direction. The board must negotiate for some time and have agreement here and there. That explains why they are confident.

They had a handshake agreement that he’d be allowed to leave if a big club came calling. Enter Juventus. Of course to save face with their rabid asshole fans (like the rest of Italian clubs) they’ve created this big song and dance, made him miss the majority of the pre-season with us. But in the end, he’ll sign with us and hopefully on more favourable terms.

Clubs who go back on their word to players are never looked on favourably by players/agents, so Atalanta know if they play hardball and try to keep him they will burn a lot of goodwill. This is the game.
