Jeeks, to my limited understanding, raves are what people call parties that play trance/hard house/techno. I guess people also label the harder house/tech trance as rave too, but there is absolutely no one definition of a rave song. Rave is a very broad and random term. In fact I hate that word. I think it sounds too gabber/happy hardcore/lets get high on e. Rave became an increasingly popular term in the late 90's but its not used as much these days. In fact back in 1998 when my older sister was into raves, she bought all these hardcore colourful rave compilation cds. From when I listen to them, they are pretty much hard=house with a lot of techtrance influences in them.

Got the name to the track/mix?

    cattaneo.........:D

    Here's the set:

    Skolbeats, Sao Paulo, Brazil
Hernan Cattaneo, Pete Tong, Patife and Layo & Bushwacka, 17/04/2005
Was aired on BBC Radio One.

I have the first hour of this or so, simply because the rest of the set was crap :D

You can easily find a torrent for this. Unless you want everything split by track :D (that's what I do with all the sets- split them up and give them proper names). Then I'd have to transfer it to you via AIM or MSN.

    Hernan Cattaneo
Andrew K 'Syndasea (PJ Davy Remix)' (White)
Bob Mooney 'Don't Touch The Bass' (White)
Jeff Bennett 'Strange Items (HC/JT Remix)'
    Weekend World 'Unknown' (Midnight Label)
    Maxine Vegas 'Deep Mariano'
Alex Neri 'That House Track (Paolo Mojo Mix)'
Oliverio 'Break My Mind (HC/JT Remix)'

    Cattaneo's set it simply AMAZING!

    Pete Tong
Francesco Farfa 'Acida 220' (Serial Killer Vinyl)
Sam Perez 'Across The Ocean' (White)
Unknown 'Closer To Me (John Digweed Remix)'
    Deep Dish 'Say Yeah' (White)
    Roog & Greg 'Uber' (Toolroom)
Matt Tolfrey 'The Horn' (Crosstown Rebels)
    Switch 'A Bit Patchy' (White)
    Alter Ego 'Rocker' (Skint)
Ozgur Can 'Just Go With It' (White)

Pete Tong's part has some nice tunes, until 'the horn'

    Patife
DJ Patife feat CW 'Overjoyed' (White)
    Drumagic 'Baby' (White)
    Sonique 'Brazilian Nights' (White)
    Dynamite MC 'The F' (White)
Alicia Keys 'U Don't Know My Name' (White)
    Calibre 'Drop It Down' (White)
    Roberto Carlos 'Cachambeque Track' (White)
Blue Scape 'Hold The Moment' (White)
    High Contrast 'Raccing Green' (Hospital)
    Peshay 'Buzz' (White)

    Layo & Bushwacka!
Michael Grey 'The Weekend (Nic Fanciulli Mix)' (Eye Industries)
Chable & Bonnici 'Ride King Unique Remix) (Alternative Route)
    Unknown 'Untitled' (White)
    Layo & Bushwacka! 'Africa' (White)
    Unknown 'Untitled' (White)
    Unknown 'Untitled' (White)
    Unknown 'Untitled' (Pigeon)
Def E 'Wipe Those Tears' (White)

you the experts, what other bands are out there that sound like prodigy.
not really my cup of tea, but try the chemical brothers and crystal method. there's load more hardbreaks/catchy acid lines artists out there, but i've never bothered to look into them.
