sounds weird Pendir... Are you sure...???
I am not sure if there are more Juve or Torino fans in Turin, but I am sure there are LOTS of Torino fans in town.

Also, Turin is a comparatively small industrial city, and location of the stadium is not all that great either.

Juventino78, welcome to the forums!

Old Delle Alpi is an olympic stadium- so it's too large, it has running tracks, etc. Basically if you sit in the corner, you won't see much of what's going on in the field.

The new one will be an English type- so that everyone can enjoy the action, and it will be much smaller- around 40k people or so.
thanx

Yeah, it is 9 billion Juventus fans on a planet, population of which is just over 6 billion :D

21 million worldwide sounds kind of weak. I think it's much more than that.
doh sorry wasnt thinking!

They're certainly not fattening their coffers on gate receipts.

As mentioned above, my impression when I was in Torino a couple months ago was:

a) There are more Torino fans than Juve fans. Juve is more of a national team, with great support from down south -- where finances can only occasionally float a couple teams south of Roma like Lecce and Reggina above Serie B status. (Also, Agnelli built the team and Fiat on a great appeal to migrant industrial workers from the south.) If only Juve could capitalize more on away receipts...

b) Torino is not a small city -- just a shade this side of Milan and Naples.

If you look across the entire league, Serie A in general does not turn out the sort of stadium capacity you get in the EPL. It's not even close.

Last time I checked the stats on this earlier in the year, I think the EPL on average runs typically at above 90% capacity while Serie A is around 50-60%, save for major matches. It's a shame, really.
