If you look across the entire league, Serie A in general does not turn out the sort of stadium capacity you get in the EPL. It's not even close.

Last time I checked the stats on this earlier in the year, I think the EPL on average runs typically at above 90% capacity while Serie A is around 50-60%, save for major matches. It's a shame, really.
I suspect part of that is bloated stadia sizes in Italy. Can anyone post the capacities of the serie A clubs? The everage EPL stadium would be about 35,000. The actual numbers going to games in England is bigger, but not by a huge margin.

Fan culture is much different in England. English clubs have done alot over rhe 15 or so years to improve the grounds, making them safer for all ages to attend and encouraging more women. The Rome derby has shown us that fans have too much power over the clubs they support for things to change to something similar they have in England.

im not surprised that juventus has the biggest number of fans in italy. i heard that juve is one of the most supported teams in the world too.

but if we have so many fans, why the stadium wasnt full last season?

btw, i found this (link) :

Despite the myth, recent figures show that more people in Turin support Juventus than Torino. The difference is that Juventus fans are often Italian and non-Italian immigrants to Turin, while the long-established Torinese tend to support Torino.

would you have spent money to see your team not only lose but play like crap ?
i would.

i find it amazing to know you wouldn't want to watch juve play if they were gonna lose.

I think its because of the Delle Alpi......you're too far away from the action...plus our team started playing crap, so towards the end of the season, we see a great decline in numbers of spectators.....

well i've calculated(rounding off to the nearest thousand) and the average size of the stadiums of each of the serie a teams is 44650.

btw,i added the guiseppe meazza and stadio olimpico twice for inter and milan and roma and lazio.

if you really like your club you should go and support the team, no matter how they play.

Crap stadium thats why. I've never been there, but from the likes of it, it seems like it is more interesting to sit at home and watch the game on TV rather than go to the Delle Alpi. But thats my perspective on the topic.

Anyways, I am happy Juve are rebuilding the stadium to make the seats closer. Maybe by the time I visit Turin, the studium would be in its prime.
The Delle Alpi isnt the best stadium! i have been to it many time! Once new finish it closer and much better to watch! Will bring more fans to game and will be harder to get ticket!! I walk down wen ever and can get ticket right now!! If sold out stadium ever match we would be much money!!

Perhaps Torino has more fans because they were very successful a few decades ago but I think if they don`t get back to serie a Juve will get more and more fans in the city.
