No, I don't think its strictly US Policy, the US weren't always like this. And I am not only talking about the Iraqi invasion or Afghan invasion but US' stance in the Israel-Palestine conflict also. I follow Politics quite abit.
From what I observed, Bush seems too arogant. I really feel many of his actions are because of his inability to deal with the US' economic issues. The US' foriegn policy wasn't this bad with Clinton.
US weren't like this I know, But they'll go on like this, It's the beginning of the Road, Middle-East and the Golf is US's 1st step, Changing the Dictatorship regime is what the US Policy wants, not only Bush, and I agree with them, because I assume that they are a real danger on this planet.
So after Iraq they'll be moving towards Syria(Removing the Dictatorian-ship as well, Al-Assad Family and take them to the Court) and also another thing that they will be Punished for opening the boarder with Iraq and hiding alot of wanted people from the United States, then you got Iran and Saudi and so on.
So It's more like a well Build Plan, "New World Order" If we can call it this way.
Bush is not arrogant as you just called him, He's doing his Job, He's already thanked by alot of Iraqians, for removing that dictatorian Saddam.
I got many Iraqian friends, thankfull for the US, So I don't see why Bush should be bashed here. Though am not sure If you were talking about his personality or his political way.
