Both are too attacking.
I agree. I don't think we have the right players for a 4-3-3. If it were to work correctly we need better wing backs. Maybe if we get Roberto Carlos from 5 years ago in place of Moli, we would be okay. Also, Camo or Neddy tactically should be dropped for Poulsen or Zanetti, but I don't see Ranieri doing that so that's why I didn't in those graphics.

That pretty much covers it

We will be playing 4-4-2 for the majority of the season, with the chance of a slight adjustment to more of a 4-3-1-2 to incorporate Giovinco.

i hope we do that to incorporate seba
I'm sure we will.

He will probably start as the LM in a 4-4-2, but he'll be allowed the freedom to drift into the centre to make in a 4-3-1-2 when we are in possession.

I just hope folk are patient with Giovinco and don't expect him to be winning games by himself as soon as he gets a chance in the team.

I'm not saying we'll be playing 4-3-3, just that I would be interested in seeing that. Also 4-3-3 doesn't by any means mean playing with 3 strikers, as it could be even more defensive than 4-4-2 if we used Camo and Gio as forwards. I'm not too sure that Nedved is going to play too many games next season given his age. This would mean Gio will be given more time. If Iaquinta is fielded with Gio I think it would be quite natural to play with 3 forwards with Trez or Amauri in the middle.

JUVENTUS, Carlo Nesti's viewpoint

Source: Carlo Nesti for Nesti Channel - carlonesti.it

According to highly-regarded Italian football journalist Carlo Nesti, Juventus are not just a physical team. During the present pre-season friendly games, Juventus look like a team full of quality with the evergreen Pavel Nedved, the quick Marco Marchionni, the powerful and prolific Vincenzo Iaquinta and two youngsters (Fausto Rossi and Albin Ekdal) being the best performers, so far.According to Mr.Nesti, the wise and competent Juve coach Claudio Ranieri, will use two systems this season : 4-4-2 and 4-3-3. Nesti explains : "Given the fact that Juve have four great forwards, at least three of them (among Del Piero, Amauri, Iaquinta and Trezeguet) deserve to play often this season (without ignoring their respective tactical positioning and technical characteristics, of course). Than, in midfield, two defensive midfielders are necessary in both systems; Ranieri can pick anyone from Christian Poulsen, Mohammed Sissoko, Cristiano Zanetti and Albin Ekdal. Such defensive midfielders can tactically support creative attacking midfielders like Camoranesi and Nedved. In conclusion, with so many talented and versatile players and at least two system-related options, Juventus have plenty of quality".

After watching the games yesterday, I feel we have more quality than we all thought we had a couple weeks ago. I hope the shouts for an ACM end soon. I think we're fine in the midfield. The defense is still the main area of concern, especially considering the injury to Andrade.

Don't let a few good performances in friendlies mask the fact we are far from the finished article and more importanly think all our problems have faded away.. It's far from the doom and gloom some people are saying but in the words of Eric Stoltz from Pulp fiction "let's all not suck each other's dix just yet"
