The form of Demiral

The fact that 3 at the back would have Bonucci less exposed

The fact that Cuadrado can slot in comfortably as a wing-back thereby hiding the weakness of the RB position

The fact that the useless Matuidi is wasting one slot in midfield making us look even weaker down the middle

All these factors are crying out for 3 at the back to be played
Look at the way we defend crosses there is no communication between center back and full back if we kick out zonal marking and introduce man to man marking we would look less vulnerable

He won't play 3 at back, and that's not his fault. He is not comfortable with that. Paratici and Nedved set him up with that. It's like asking Gasperini to drop 3 at back. Can he do it? Sure. Will it work? No.

Calma. He's a good coach and good coaches are able to adapt to a system best suited for his squad, instead of just shoehorning them into a system that doesn't suit the team at all.
I think it has to do with his philosophy. Playing with 3 at the back means to rely on wingbacks while he wants to play through the middle.

We should play like this

Szcseny
Danilo Deligt Bonucci Sandro
Ramsey Pjanic Rabiot
Dybala
Higuain Ronaldo

Rotate midfield with Bentancur.
Use the likes of Can and Matuidi for smaller games.
Cuadrado at RB with smaller games or mid-game subs. Defensively he's too weak for RB against good teams.

A few things from tody that was garbage or needs to change.
Dybala away from goal is bad-We have seen it before and it hasnt changed
Trident is unbalanced and its to narrow
Ramsey and Costa should always play. Ramsey at AM gives us more possesion and control while Costa is more dangerous going forward and in wide areas. When they are at AM we look more dangerous and balanced. Ronaldo looks isolated without them
More attackers isnt always more attacking.

Dybala, Higuain and Ronaldo all on the pitch together simply doesn’t work.

That’s become obvious by now.
it does, against oppositions that leave more space between the lines. yesterday napoli remained compact all along, so the trident was ineffective. even crossventus would have been more dangerous than this shitty, unmotivated, naively defending, low testosterone sarriventus.

4-3-3

Ronaldo #9. Matuidi bench.

Costa/Berna LW to smash crosses. Dybala RW (sacrifice).

LCM either Ramsey as a mezzala type or Rabiot more defensive.

Higuain super sub and rotation.

If Ronaldo wants to drift wide then Dybala can fill the space like Guedes does with Portugal. All Ronaldo's goals this year are in the box. He has only 2 assists.
