He is an old-fashioned footballer. He isn't built for the strong and fast football of today. Forced out on the left, some ten years ago he would've been a free roaming supporting forward, playing between the lines.
Kinda true, but actually he has fairly decent balance stength, but indeed way too short. In Pescara in Zeman style, he got his natural role and was seriously sick in general play. But being pushed to winger really doesnt suit him, he is a fairly good playmaking forward with deadly accurate shot, so should play closer to the box and only play in 4-3-3 most probably in todays styles. If he wasnt such mama's boy for his home town, I wouldnt mind if was the only Napoli player we ever signed. More so then Hamsik for me.

Think he'll get chances to play more centrally this season.

Sarri is playing 4-3-1-2, so he shouldn't get pushed wide.

He played trequartista against Samp and was looking very good in the first half.

Yeah, I like his style, but as you illustrate its hard to give him his natural place in todays football.

A, I did not know that. I'm very curious to see how he develops in that role.

Finally

Didnt notice. I havent seen even a single highlight of a Serie A game, since there was a tv program for Serie A that used to provide that weekly, but now they dont even show a single Serie A game on tv anymore...

Do you think he can be good enough for an Allegri type of Trequartista? I would guess he would play as a forward for Allegri.

Insigne is definitely a forward in my book.

He should really be playing off a main centre-forward rather than as a trequartista, because I think he'll leave Napoli unbalanced playing deeper.

But he will perform better there than he has from the wing.

 The closer he is to the box when he receives the ball, the better for him, especially zona del piero areas, ridicolously accurate shot and crosses from there. Finds the net or people effortessly in the right zone. But its completely waste to expect him to start off the ball from far back the left as winger and waste energy trying to win huge space forward. Cant be creative enough when played as a winger.

Such a fun little trouper
